Jason Kunwar is a lyricist, composer, and music producer. When listening to his songs we find that his strong narratives thrive from silent yet subtle observations of human instincts. This is evident in Timi Sattama Chhau, Padkinchha Barood as well as the numbers in Ani Ukali, Sangai Orali, Jhalkaraya Buka; and Ramite-The Music Volume 1.
Kunwar is widely known as a front-man of neo-school folk band Night. He is also an award-winning film score composer, multi-instrumentalist, ethnomusicology scholar, and writer. He has worked as a film music composer for over 15 national and international films which include "The Black Hen" for which he won the Best musical score award in 2016 at the 2nd Annual "Asian World Film festival" held in ArcLight, Culver City, California. He has performed at various international music festivals namely, WOMEX 2017, Poland, Shambala Festival 2015, 2018 UK, Sharq Taronalari, Samarkand Uzbekistan, 2015 with his band Night.
In 2021, he released a novel Ramite as a part of his multimedia project by the same name. Ramite has received rave reviews for its language and an intricately woven plot that keeps the readers engaged and awestruck.
