Disagreeing with the blogger. I am a car owner and marine engineer and having some knowledge on lubrication. The main benefit of synthetic oil is to maintain its properties within a vast temperature range. Or in other words it will maintain it's lubricity at vast temperature range. India is not a cold country but during summer season the ambient temperature goes very high. So proportionately the lubricating oil temperature increases. In case of mineral oil the viscosity and thus lubricity of the oil drops. That's not good for engine as there is a possibility of breaking of hydrodynamic fluid film. That possibility of totally eliminated when you are using synthetic oil. As you are ( most of us ) changing oil once in year ( private ownership ) so it's better to use synthetic oil. During summer season your car will run more smoothly. Choise is yours.

Here in the US, user manuals of almost all cars explicitly mention the use of synthetic oil only. You would hardly find a service station having petroleum oil in stock. In the US we don’t use petroleum oil at all. Personally I always go with Mobil 1 full synthetic oil.

I live in Hyderabad. I’ve a 250cc bike and used mineral oil in first 1000kms. So I’m sharing my experience with you. I felt vibrations and noise from engine and when revved a bit high it makes a very awful noise. When I changed the oil within 1000km it was totally destroyed where as I didn’t forced my bike over 55-60kmph at any given time. Then I changed my engine oil to high performance fully synthetic oil (parrot green in color) and I felt the smoothness while riding. That awful sound disappeared and engine noise has reduced to very minimum. Now when I rev there’s very less vibration and sound is different. So in short my point is my riding experience has improved by switching to fully synthetic oil. All I want to say is that your points makes sense theoretically but in practical what I experienced is different. Do you have any opinion or explanation for this?

Don't be fool, Synthetic oil is best, just purchased synthetic oil from Amazon, it's very cheap , engine will become smooth as silk

Ha mene apni ciaz VDI+ ki 4th servicing me service center ko force kiya k muze jo manual me likha he wohi mineral oil chahiye, unhone bahot mqnane ki koshish ki but me nahi mana, muze manual me likha mineral oil hi chahiye tha and i saved 1800 rupees

In Good synthetic oil you wont feel the reduction in power and smoothness after long hot drive compared to mineral oil.

I have used synthetic oil and it really works great. Earlier whenever I used to start my AC while driving it use to give a lag but after using synthetic oil the lag was no more.

it does not matter what lubricant you use just check the oil level frequently if needed make a top up, and change the oil in time as mentioned in the vehicle manual, one difference i like to point out is Mineral oil dries out much quicker than synthetic oil.

Today I went to serivce my Santro Sportz CNG after one year. The servicing man asked me to change oil to synthetic worth 3500 INR. By watching your video I asked him to change to normal oil which is available 1200-1500 INR range. Your video helped me to save 2000 INR for sure. Thank you. My running is 8000-10000 Km per year max. As a mechanic .i have more then 20 years of experience .as per my experience ..sir ne jo kaha shi kahaa..10000 se agar kum chalti he saal me car ...u dont meed synthetic oil . Instead best way is ..pehle engine flush karo ..then oil drain karo .fir se normal oil dalo .run your engine for 20 minutes again ..then drain the oil again ...fir last me oil topup kardo ..u r good to go ..

मि. अमित जी आपकी जानकारी बहुत अच्छी थी, मुझे भी सिथेंटिक ऑयल और नार्मल ऑयल का विकल्प दिया गया सर्विस एजेंसी की तरफ से, जिसमे उन्होंने नार्मल ऑयल की कीमत 1600 और सिंथेटिक ऑयल की कीमत 3800 बताई । पैसे कम होने की वजह से मैंने नॉर्मल ऑयल चुना लेकिन असमंजस में रह की मैंने कोई गलती तो नही कर नार्मल आयल चुनकर क्योंकि उन्हें explain ही ऐसे किया था जैसे कि अपने बताया कि ये हो जाएगा वो हो जाएगा, फिर भी अपनी जेब को देखते हुए मैंने थोड़ा Hard Decision लिया किंतु एजेंसी की बातें भी दिमाग में घूमकर परेशान कर रही थी, फिर मैंने यूट्यूब पर सर्च किया तो आपकी दी जानकारी से अब मैं सन्तुष्ट हूँ। आपके चैंनल लाइक और सस्क्रैब भी किया। आपका बहुत बहुत आभार 🙏🙏

During WWII, in germany, hydrocarbon oil (read fuel not lubricant) was produced. The process is called Bergius process in the name of scientist who discovered/ invented it. Synthetic engine oils are superior to mineral oils. But if one runs car less than 10000 km a year, todays good quality multigrade mineral oil are sufficient to provide protection. Mineral oil cant hold enough of their properties beyond that. One of the main reason of switching to synthetic engine oils in Europe and US is to have longer drain interval so that there would be less used oil to recycle. It’s beneficial for our environment. IMHO, now a days synthetic engine oil prices are not that high as it used to be especially if getting car serviced outside A.S.S. and buying oil yourself. Its worth as it provides better protection to engine for longer duration.
