On March 8th, International Women’s Day, the global celebration of women’s social, economic, cultural, and political achievements takes center stage, aiming to raise awareness about gender equality and accelerate progress towards parity. This year's commemoration is particularly significant as it highlights the remarkable achievements of women across diverse fields.
As part of the International Women’s Day festivities, Northern Railway has introduced Pink stations at five key locations: Firozshah on Firozpur division, Mohali on Ambala division, Malhaur & Manak Nagar on Lucknow division, and Delhi Safdarjung on Delhi division. These stations have undergone a transformation, with all-women staff now managing operations. Women are responsible for crucial roles such as Guard, Assistant Stations Master, Loco Pilot, and RPF.
The introduction of Pink stations represents a significant step towards empowering women within the railway sector.
