Pach Kothar Ghor: A Family Garden Shed designed by Architect Md. Tarek Haider and Moushumi Ahmed.
The family aspired to own a garden where quiet relaxing weekends could be enjoyed amidst lush green, seasonal flowers and fresh produces. The project owner-cum-designers were lucky to find this piece of land (5 katha plot) punctuated with various kinds of fruit-bearing trees and set out to transform it into a garden with a shed for family gatherings. The primary consideration was to erect a humble structure to accommodate some old furniture that carry family history within a limited budget, preservation of maximum number of existing trees and incorporation of a water body.

Good quality video production. But, it would have been better if more focus was made on the architectural designs while the architects spoke on the background. I think 50% of the time we saw them talking instead of seeing the aesthetics of the house. Would have loved to see the kitchen design, how they designed the bedroom, little design details of constructions, windows, & joineries etc.

This is an ideal example of how a built form should respond to its context. Very simple design, but well articulated with its surrounding context. Congratulations to the designers.

প্রজেক্টটি দেখে বেশ ভালো লাগলো। কিশোরগঞ্জ জেলার ভৈরবে ১৯১৭ সালে নির্মিত উত্তরাধিকারসূত্রে প্রাপ্ত আমাদের একটি দ্বিতল দালান আছে। চতুর্থ প্রজন্ম হিসেবে পূর্ব পুরুষের স্মৃতিবিজড়িত এই দালানটিকে প্রয়োজনীয় মেরামতের মাধ্যমে বাসযোগ্য রেখে পরবর্তী প্রজন্মের কাছে উপহার দিয়ে দিতে চাই। এ কাজে দিক নির্দেশনার জন্য আগ্ৰহী স্থপতি খুঁজছি।

দুজনই দারুণ গুছিয়ে সাবলীল বলেন, বাড়িটার পেছনের চিন্তাপ্রক্রিয়া সুন্দর এসছে। ঠিক যে গাছতলায় বসেই সময় পার করে দেয়া যায়, তবে অন্যান্য কোণেও কেউ সময় কাটাচ্ছেন এমন শট ও প্রতিবেশের শব্দ আরো থাকলে ভালো হতো। নামটাও সুন্দর, চার বা ছয়-সাত কথা না হয়ে পাঁচ কথা শুনতে মনে লাগে। অভিনন্দন।
