Chefs from Bangladesh won't understand the tastes, psyche and both mental and verbal language of western clients /patrons like you do! Please create some beautiful stories and share it with your fellow Bangladeshis so that they can use it too -- instead of waiting for others to do it which may never happen!

I’m also a sushi chef. I had a small sushi restaurant as well in Barcelona,Spain. I really love to make sushi roll. I learnt from my colleague a Japanese lady.Now I’m working with a Canadian lady in her restaurant. When I start with her.she just make once for teach me her food. Then she left from kitchen. I’m doing it ….and I’m doing good . She is happy too. 2 times I tried to check her for kick me out but she didn’t. I have 12 years experience of restaurant sector. Indian, sushi and Spanish food i can make at the moment.

In order to achieve what this man is saying, we as a whole community have to change our mindset/mentality. The Bangladeshi community, in general with the exception of a few, are stuck in a hierarchical/employment system where certain jobs are looked down upon. I would say this is more prevalent in the middle class. We have to get into the mentality that all jobs are great jobs and we have to get into the mindset of archiving the higest accolades of that specific job and have qualified/internationally accredited institutions that provide proper training/internationally recogbnized certifications.

I live in Canada, already have finished my one year chef course and going to start my pastry making course next. Here, wherever I go, like Hilton or Marriott hotel have to cook pork or any other food with wines. As a Muslim how can I handle this? Either do this or stop your journey here. It’s my question to honorable chef Najim,How can I overcome that? Bcz I wanted to be a executive chef one day InshaAllah!!
Honest Answer in Islamic perspective our income is haram. Even we develop menus for Xmas, Easter that we are helping non believers to celebrate which is also haram. Allah knows best and I wish you all the best

আমেরিকায় শেফ হিসেবে বা ম্যানেজার হিসাবে কাজ করতে হলে হয়তবা তাকে মদের বিষয় গুলা ফেস করতে হতে পারে,নাও হতে পারে। আমি যতটুকু জানি আমেরিকাতে মদকে মানুষ পানির মতো পান করে। আকর্ষণীয় জব গুলাতে অনেকক্ষেত্রে অসুবিধা থাকেই। শুভকামনা ভাইয়ের জন্য।
মদ আর শুওরের মাংস - দুইটাই হ্যান্ডল করতে হবে। আপনি নিজে খান বা না খান ঠিকাছে, কিন্তু হ্যান্ডল করতে না পারলে শেফ হিসেবে আপনার স্বপ্নের ক্যারিয়ার স্বপ্নই থেকে যাবে!!! আমি মুসলিম, এইটা খাবো না, ঐটা ছুবো না, সেইটার গন্ধে আমার বমি পায় ওয়াক - এইসব বললে কেউ আপনাকে চাকরি দিবে না। মিডল ইস্টে পেলেও পেতে পারেন হয়তো, কিম্বা পশ্চিমা দেশে কোনো ছোটখাট মুসলমান পরিচালিত হালাল রেস্তোরার ক্ষুদে রাধুনী হতে পারবেন, কিন্তু হাই-রেপুটেশন মেইনস্ট্রীম মাস্টারশেফ??? কস্মিনকালেও না!!! আর হ্যাঁ, আমেরিকা না, এই বাংলাদেশেও বহু লোক মদকে পানির মত পান করে!!!
