আমরা বাঙালিরা এটাকে পর্তুগিজ ভাষার শব্দ হিসেবে চিনি কারণ পর্তুগিজ অভিবাসীদের মাধ্যমেই এই ফলটির সাথে আমাদের পরিচয় হয়েছে। মূলত শব্দটি ইন্দো ইউরোপীয় ভাষাবংশের 'রোমান্স' সাবগ্রুপ থেকে এসেছে। বর্তমানে পৃথিবীতে 'রোমান্স' সাবগ্রুপের মধ্যে যে ভাষাগুলোতে বেশি মানুষ কথা বলে সেগুলো হলো স্প্যানিশ, পর্তুগিজ, ফ্রেঞ্চ, ইতালিয়ান এবং মারিয়া আপুর মাতৃভাষা রোমেনিয়ান। পৃথিবীর সবচেয়ে বেশি ভাষাতে যে শব্দগুলো কমন পাওয়া যায়, আনানাস তার মধ্যে অন্যতম। আমার মনে হয় মারিয়া আপু এই তথ্যটি জানে (কেননা এর আগের এক ভিডিওতে দেখছিলাম উনি অনেকগুলো 'রোমান্স' ভাষা শিখেছেন) তাই স্পেশালি পাইনএপেলের বাংলা কি তা জিজ্ঞেস করেছেন।

After seeing that "Muri", it immediately reminded me of the Jhal Muri (chana chur mixed with Muri, and other spices) we used to buy from the streets of Bangladesh.
