Very insightful conversation. I belong to a farming family but do a job also due to low land holding. My 2 cents are that MSP is just a short term solution i.e. when the land is divided between 2 or more sons, the same income will be far too less for 2 or more families. Farmer should know how much minimum land holding is required to manage a reasonable family income. If we don't come out of rice cultivation in Punjab, we are already doomed. Stop free electricity but build in the cost in MSP. Till the time we do not have a huge storage solution, alternative crops or vegetables will remain a dream.

Farmer paddy ki farming shorh skta hai other crop ka msp or seed available ho good quality me jaise cotton farming me seed non BT aa rha hai Seed Quality me improve nhi hai balki dicrease hui hai Cotton msp in Haryana 5450 per quintal Average per acre 4-5 quintal 5450 * 5 = 27250 rs per acre Pls think about farmers Stand with farmers 🙏🏻

21000 crore figure stated by crisil is 'real cost' sir. Same report calculated requirement of 6lakh crore as working capital for one croping season, so that would mean, govt will be require minumum 15 lakh crore as working capital corpus for 3 croping seasons (annually). Also, consider working capital cycle could be around 2-10 months. Therefore, allocation is required for 1 year procurement... Further, there was also one caveat in calculation of real cost. They calculated real cost assuming MSP is lower than market price and FCI is working with 100% efficiency. So, considering these factors 'Real cost' would be not less than 3-5 lakh crore... It could be even more sir,

So let us put everything on the paper what they pay and get not want to hear selective things. No income tax, no capital gain tax, free loans. Labour exploitation. Rewarding inefficient activities . If you allow this MSP guarantee remember small farmers will be biggest losers to bigger farmers as part of consolidation
