So far the title music of Utahama Puthiran is still the best one so far in Tamil cinema , I have not heard any such wonderful tune in any film except in Veeramani Pandya Kattabomman where again G.Ramanadhan has done excellent job, But unfortunately he died very earlier age, Even today his songs tuned songs NiNaindu nenjam, Vakalabamayile, Vasandamullaipola, Sandanam seimaname, All songs in Thoothuku thooki, and many other film songs from Haidas, Madhuraiveeran, Kaveri, many other films, So other music directors are below G.Ramanadhan only, A.M.Srinevasan from East Yorkshire,UK,
Curb your enthusiasm please. If MSV is God, who is G Ramanathan, CR Subbaraman, KV Mahadevan? What about Papanasan Sivan?? Tamils are given to hype such as Kavi Perarasu, Ulaga Nayagan etc.

@@hajamohaideen3821 They parted company in 1965 after Aayirathil Oruvan. If you choose 1000 best songs of MSV, 900 would be MSV / TKR combo. My personal opinion, MSV good work was upto 1969, after that most films had only one or two good songs. TKR was not the extrovert that MSV, hence MSV succeeded. Also only few producers like TR Ramanna stood by TKR, Sridhar and others went with the extrovert MSV. I am not taking anything away from MSV.
Ulagam Sutrum Vaaliban, Sivandha man, Ninaiththale inikkum, mattrum pala padangal M.S.V mattumdhaan seidhadhu. Without TKR also, great M.S.V did super works. But without M.S.V, voilinist TKR was nothing. So MSV the unique and only University of Music, the perfectionist
@@hajamohaideen3821 The three movies that you mention as examples proves my point, Sivandha Mann had a brilliant Onu naalile uravanathe, other songs were good too, with brilliant use of orchestra, interweaving Egyptian style, French style etc, in such work MSV is peerless, and I agree with you completely. The other two movies you mention, I will struggle to even remember more than one or two songs. But when you say MSV only University of Music? Perhaps hyperbole and not to be taken seriously?
Pioneer in adaptation of western music is not MSV but Vedha who is the trend setter. Vedha known for western imitation remains the pioneer. The role played by HMV musicians cannot be overlooked. The best composure lies in how best one made use of HMV musician which Vedhan has started and later made use of by not MSV but duo TKR and MSV..
Before MSV, and before Vedha, it was G Ramanathan who adapted Western Music, in such songs such as Yaradee nee mohini (Uthama Puthiran), Chinna pennana pothile (Aaravalli), but only selectively. I am not sure about Vedha as he rehashed mostly Hindi remakes by Modern Theatres, so it was not Vedha but Hindi Music Directors.
My request to Thiru Mathi is you are critising Brahmin because they adopt Many Neeti ;. Sir where are you standing.? 90 percent Brahmin have not read this Bloody Manu. Brahmins do not indulge in caste related violence. Manu nithi is not here but is in the attitude and perception of brahmin. Of brahmin It must be said they have seldom indicated as part of tamil culture but projected outside they are the representative of tamil culture.
