கோவிலுக்கு பின்புறமுள்ள தென்பகுதிமலையில் இசைக்கல்வெட்டு காணப்படுகின்றது.
கர்னாடகசங்கீதவிதிகள் குறித்து புகழ்வாய்ந்த கல்வெட்டு இந்தியாவில் இங்கு மட்டும்தான் இருக்கிறது. இசையைப்பற்றியும் அதன் அடிப்படை ராகங்களைப்பற்றியும், ஏழு ராகங்களுக்குரிய விதிகளைப்பற்றியும் பாலி கிரந்தஎழுத்தில் அழகாக செதுக்கப்பட்டிருக்கின்றன. இசைக்கல்வெட்டிற்கு அருகிலேயே; குடவரைக்கோவில் உள்ளது.
Kudumiyanmalai is a great historic center, which is confirmed by the presence of the huge temple complex with copious inscriptions.
On the eastern precipice of the hillock at its foot is seen the rock-cut temple called Melaikkovil, which the inscriptions refer to as Thirumerrali.
Near the Melaikkovil, to its left, is the famous Musical Inscription and a giant Ganesa bas-relief sculpture.
Apart from the rock-cut temple, the Main Shrine, Soundaranayaki Amman Shrine, Vinayaga Shrine, and Akilandeshwari Shrine are the structural temples that originated in the subsequent eras, forming it as a huge, multifaceted temple complex.
There is also a Murugan and Vinayagar shrine at the summit of the hill.

The temple is facing east, with Rajagopuram base pillars but no superstructure. The Vasantha mandapam, which is immediately after the entrance, has 24 statue pillars. On the right side is the 1000-pillar mandapam.
MUSICAL INSCRIPTIONS:
This inscription is on the left side of the rock-cut cave temple on the rock.
4 feet of Vinayagar were carved in the 12th century. By the side of the Vinayagar are the famous musical inscriptions. The inscription records information about the music, believed to have been inscribed in the 7th century.
Jain Vestiges:
Kudumiyanmalai was an important Jaina centre in the early 2nd century CE. Rock-cut beds for the Jain monks can be found in a natural cavern on the southwestern side of the main hill. A Brahmi inscription dated to the 2nd century CE can be found in this cavern. It records that the rock-cut beds were excavated by Korrantay of Nalai.
