For most of us, Music is one of the right paths of God realization and it is incomplete without devotion (bhakthi) and emotions (bhava). “Sangeeta Gnanamu Bhakti vina Sanmaargamu Galadhae Manasa”. If someone wants to sing or listen to music for just temporary pleasure or enjoyment, he/she can practice or listen to filmy or light music or western music, definitely not Carnatic Music which is DIVINE! TMK has been doing great disservice to all the wonderful composers who composed thousands of brilliant Krithis in praise of our Deities with utmost devotion and emotion to attain Moksha!

Is he that renowned as a musician that immediatly people recognize him as allow do like the very great vidwans like Balamurali Krishna,maharajapram viswanathier,,maharajapuram santhanam,or MS etc.. Not at all convinced about thus man's undue recognition which for sure he doesn't deserve.... Man without conviction & commitment....very highly sad state of affairs indeed...

T.M. Krishna is a rebel. Around 15 years back also, the controversy came on him. Sirkali siva chidambaram some 40 years back, sung in praise of Thidal leadèr of the past and that was the end of his singing in sabhas. Truely speaking, this is another extended move to wipe out a parti cular comminity from all walks of life. They have been using this singer as a tool to throw mud on that particular community. Their concerted move is to widen the gap between communities and create animosity and restlessness. From the times of Justice Party of 1921, they have been working with this Agenda and wiped out that particular community from govt deptl recruitments. Now it has been extended to singing field !
100% correct. This "divide and rule" and reap the benefit from it is the legacy of British. This works very well now. Very sad. When will the people realise the hidden agenda behind all these?

It is so obvious atheist N.Ram of The Hindu do not believe in Sri.Ram, and atheist TM Krishna do not believe in Sri. Krishna, and one guy's institution is patting the other with an award. Let TM Krishna select 5 other than brahmins, 5 from other religions and train them in carnatic music. Saint Arunagirinathar was from sengunthar community. But it is brahmins who are wide spread propogating Tirupughazh by forming mandalis in every towm from Delhi to kanyakumari. Tirupughazh was brought to public by Vallimalai swamigal , sadhuram swamigal, Rghavan guriji all of them were brahmins. We never differntiate in arts music and bhakti.

Academy might even accept a program from TMK in 2024 season, in that he may sing Sindhikka Sonnavar Periyar as a main song, in front of TMK fans. Having gone so far, Music Academy can also allow this to satisfy TMK fans. Can MA be influenced to do this ?.........😃😃😃.

T.M. Krishna got what he wanted, create rift in the peaceful society. There are very many musicians who does not belong to his caste. When Bharat is moving towards progress inclusive of all, it is odd Krishna is trying to create a rift. If people love carnatic art form they do take it up. Carnatic music is a tough art form and learning takes time and practice. No short cut to Carnatic music form. Becoming famous is not in any one's hands. It is a gift from God. Why some people attained fame while others didn't, no one can give a valid answer. Why Rajinikanth is famous than Kamal despite being the king of acting?.carnatic music is divine and most of the songs are sung in praise of God in Telugu, Sanskrit and Tamil. Unless one emulate the devotion it is impossible to bring the full essense of the songs. T.M. Krishna can sing in praise of any one starting from Periyar to Udhyanidhi, absolutely ok, but are the carnatic lovers willing to listen?. Music has no language barrier, if it touches the soul it is a divine music.

In the precolonial times especially in southern India, people used to take the skin from cows or bulls or bullocks that died of natural causes, not from butchered Cattle . The latter is a more recent trend!
There is a bigger agenda. First they wanted to separate our cultural celebration from Hinduism. 1. Started with samaththuva Pongal & calling it as Tamilar festival than Hindu festival. Though none of the other religion (mainly M & C) worship Sun God, Aaditya. 2. Separate out Hindus & Tamils. Tamils are not Hindus propaganda. 3. Divide festivals by region. Nonsense theory like Deepavali is North India festival & Thai poosam is Tamil festival. 4. In that agenda they want to separate out Carnatic music from Hinduism and Devotion to Hindu Gods. In this way they want to separate Hinduism with it traditions like its festival, carnatic music and bharathanaatiyam. Then it will be easy to convert gullible Hindus (mainly to C). Best way is to bring back the Carnatic music where it belongs to i.e. Temples. Temples are the places where Carnatic music & Bharathanaatiyam should be performed and not in Music Academy. For that we need to get back the temples from Govt & revive our Hindu Sanatana culture.

The tone and tenor of Mr Murali's letter indicate a veiled threat to the renowned musicians Ranjani and Gayathri for their decision to withdraw from the proceedings of the award function of Madras Music Academy. I want to ask one thing to Mr Murali....Is Madras Music Academy owned by him, just because he is holding the post of president of the academy? What is the criteria for choosing the recepient of the Sangeeta Kalanidhi Award? If music is the only criterion, are they choosing exponents of other types of music, like Western Classical, Arabic, etc.,? If they are awarding only to Carnatic Musicians, what is the guideline they follow? Will they choose a Brahmin, Hindu Basher like the one they have chosen this time, who is for substituting the words Rama with Jesus in the Kruthis of Thyagaraja, thereby destroying the basic tenet of Karnataka Sangeetam, which is Bhakthi?Are they approving that? Really Shameful and Disgusting to have such persons who don't give any value to our culture ? It's high time they are replaced by some other eminent persons who value the highly respected traditions instead of the persons from the left-oriented Hindu Ram family

Let TMK prove that he is a reformist, by bringing the underpriviliged , atleast a few to sing along with him on stage , wen receiving his award and let the downtrodden whom he considers from Kuppams be his audience seated in front rows of Music Academy. If he can do this, then we can understand his motive in bringing change

No one is more deserving of the SK award than TMK. A multidimensional talent, a public intellectual and a courageous humanitarian whose mastery of his art is matched by his deep sense of right and wrong, he is the best antidote to the toxicity which has seeped into the carnatic universe over the decades.
