Bharathiraja has said that in the old times, for instance, when Congress was in power in Tamil Nadu, the leaders came from wealthy families and did not have the temptation or need to take bribes and indulge in corruption. When later governments came to power, the leaders came from poor families and so they were prey to corruption, bribery etc. and wanted to amass wealth, property etc. My question is: Was Karunanidhi poor ? Was Jayalalitha poor? Did they not set the limit of corruption and amassing of inconceivable wealth?
