I'm pretty sure I've seen a disclaimer at the start of the film stating that while the characters did exist in real life, the events in the film are fictionalised... Perhaps every director should read the disclaimers like what Vetrimaaran did for Viduthalai so that it's more emphasised.

I completely fell in love with this movie. I never read the book and i understood the movie. I am a malayali and i watched it in tamil and i must say i was in awe❤I loved this movie. People hypes the worst movies. I like ponniyin selvan-2 more. I never read the book. I understood it very well. Oru movieyil engane ee story konduveraamo adu nalla vrithiyaayi cheythitundu. Web series is not a joke, none of these actors will waste their whole time for it. If the caste isn't appropriate, people will mock that as well. This is the maximum a film maker could do, its a big star cast, finding dates and schedules are tough. I think maniratnam showed justice to the movie and did what maximum he could do. Mahabharat is the best stories in history which could make a movie. Why people are not doing it ,they know its isn't easy the content cannot be compressed and the star cast , production everything is vital. Making a movie none will dare to do and webseries is practically impossible with main stream actors. So, its not happening. Maniratnam showed courage and he portrayed with absolute aunthenticity without overdramatic showoffs like mass movies and he did an excellent job.

I saw the movie and I don't personally agree with your review. The movie was one-time watchable but technical aspect of it was outstanding. I personally loved the end war action choreography but one thing I agree with you is the nandhini and karikalan meeting was not convincing and Parthibendran's motto for going against Chola was unconvincing and unclear at least. Overall a decent movie but had the potential for great movie. As usual it is a let down by Mani Ratnam!

So மணி ஆதித்யனோட முடிவ அப்படி காமிச்சது.. எந்த விதத்துலயும் அவன தப்பா காமிச்சது மாறி எனக்கு தெரியல்ல.. அடுத்து நீங்க சொன்ன Political reason, maybe சில பேருக்கு தப்பா தோனியிருக்கலாம்.. but IMO பாண்டிய ஆபத்துதவிகள் யாரும் ஆதித்யன கொல்ல திட்டமிடவே இல்ல or அவங்கள நல்லவங்களாவே காமிச்சிருந்தா நீங்க சொல்ற மாறி வரலாற திரிச்சுட்டதா ஏத்துக்கலாம்.. ஆனால் அவங்கெல்லாருமே ஆதித்யன கொல்றதுக்காக தானே அங்க கூடிணாங்க நத்தினி உட்பட.. almost அவங்க திட்டத்த நெருங்கிட்டாங்க.. என்ன ஒன்னு ஆதித்யன் முந்திக்கிட்டான் அவ்வளவு தான்..அவர்கள்ட நோக்கம் தானே நிறைவேறுச்சு.. இதுல என்ன அவ்வளவு வரலாற்று திரிப மணி செஞ்சுட்டாரு… Bro.. உங்க channel ஆரம்பிச்சதுல இருந்து உங்கள follow பன்னிக்கிட்டிருக்கேன்..
