ஆவிக்குறிய விளைவுகள்:
சாதாரண மனிதனுக்கு புரியாத லத்தீன மொழியிலிருந்த வேதாகமத்தை மார்ட்டின் லூத்தர் எளிதான ஜெர்மனுக்கு மொழிபெயர்த்ததால், பொது மக்கள் வேதாகமத்தை படிக்க முடிந்தது. அதிலிருந்து வந்த மாற்றங்கள்
1) பரிசுத்த வேதமே/வேதாகமமே அதிகார பத்திரம்; மனிதர்களையும் சபையையும் விட மேலானது.
2) இரட்சிப்பு இலவசம்; அதை விலை கொடுத்து வாங்க முடியாது.
- இரட்சிப்பு என்பது நாம் நன்மை செய்து புன்னியம் சேர்ப்பதினால் கிடைப்பது அல்ல. கடவுளுடைய கிருபையினால் கொடுக்கப்படுகிறது; நாம் அதை விசுவாசத்தினால் பெற்றுக்கொள்கிறோம்.
- பாவ மன்னிப்பு தவம் செய்வதினாலோ, மன்னிப்புச் சீட்டு பெறுவதினாலோ, புனித பயணங்கள் செல்லுவதினாலோ கிடைப்பது கிடையாது.
சிலுவையில் கிறிஸ்து செய்ததை நம்புவதினாலே மட்டுமே பாவ மன்னிப்பு கிடைக்கும்.
- பாவங்களை மன்னிப்பது கடவுள் மட்டுமே, மனிதன் அல்ல.
- தேவ நீதி இலவசமாக நமக்கு கொடுக்கப்படுகிறது. நம்மை நீதிமானென கடவுள் அறிவிக்கிறார்.
3) ஒவ்வொரு விசிவாசியும் பரிசுத்தவானாகவும், ஆசாரியனாகவும் இருக்கிறான்.
சமுதாய
& பொருளாதார மேம்பாடுகள்/முன்னேற்றங்கள்/விளைவுகள்:
1) தனி மனித உரிமைகளுக்கு முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுக்கபட்டது. நவநாகரீக மனிதன் சீர்திருத்தத்தின் விளைவு/விளைவாயிருக்கிறான்.
2) ப்ராடெஸ்டென்ட் நம்பிக்கை பொருளாதார வளர்ச்சிக்கும், செழிப்புக்கும் வழி வகுத்தது./ ப்ராடெஸ்டென்ட் நம்பிக்கையை தளுவிய நாடுகள் பொருளாதார ரீதியில் செழிப்படைந்தன.
3) ப்ராடெஸ்டென்ட் நம்பிக்கையிலிருந்து புதிதாக எழுந்த வேலையை குறித்த போதனைகள்/ நெறிமுறைகள் மனிதனுக்கு தன்னுடைய வேலையின் மேல் மறியாதையையும், அந்தஸ்தயும் கொடுத்தது.
4) படிப்பறிவுக்கு முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டது; இலவச பொது பள்ளிகள் ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட்டன.
5) கடவுளின் சாயலில் படைக்கப்பட்ட மனிதனுக்கு தனக்கு தகுந்ததை தேர்ந்தெடுக்கும் சுதந்திரமும் அறிவும் இருக்கிறது என்ற நம்பிக்கையின் அடிப்படையில் ஜனநாயகம் என்கிற ஆட்சி வடிவம் உறுவானது.
MARTIN LUTHER AND THE PROTESTANT REFORMATION
Pastor Sam P. Chelladurai takes us through the historical background of the Reformation. He narrates the many events that led to Martin Luther’s revolutionary statement "The 95 Theses". He teaches us about the personal, spiritual turmoil that Martin Luther underwent, before the amazing revelation came upon him that "the just shall live by faith". Pastor Sam also recounts the historical changes that the church and the world as a whole underwent in the centuries following the Reformation.
SPIRITUAL IMPACT OF THE REFORMATION
Previously the Bible was available in Latin Vulgate. Since Martin Luther made the Bible available in the common tongue, people learnt that:
1.The Bible is the authority, not a person or the church.
2.Salvation is free; it cannot be bought.
- Salvation is not earned by our works. It is given to us by God through grace; we receive it by faith.
- Forgiveness of sins is earned by penance or indulgences, but believing the work of Jesus on the cross.
- It is God, not a person who forgives our sins.
- Righteousness is available to free, revealed to us by faith.
3.Every believer is a priest and a saint.
SOCIAL & ECONOMIC IMPACT OF THE REFORMATION
1.Individualism was given importance; the modern man is a product of the reformation.
2.Protestant beliefs led to economic growth and prosperity./Countries that adopted Protestant beliefs showed great economic growth and prosperity.
3.The protestant work ethic gave a different and uplifting perspective about work.
4.Literacy was given importance and free public schooling was implemented.
5.As the belief took root that man was created in the image and likeness of God and was capable of making his own choices, individualism grew as a result of which democracy emerged as the preferred form of governance.
