Great interview! I am happy for Chinmayi. She is a change agent. It takes courage to come out against a person with influence. I am pretty sure she knew the possibility of retaliation but still she went ahead anyway. On the bright side, It must have been a cathartic experience for her coming out after all these years. Personally, I am ashamed to see the disgusting attempts to ruin her livelihood. I just could not believe people taking a stand to defend the accused. At the minimum, they could have been silent if they did not have a heart to support her. Occasionally some incidents hold a mirror to the face of the society. It offers a chance for self reflection. Our family has been a fan of Chinmayi’s professional work. Now we are admirers of her humanity! Keep going Chinmayi!

Many individuals, men or women started doubting and calling into question, the victims, leaving a whole space to molesters who take action in order to weaken victims voice... To people who doubts a victim's testimony, you can't imagine the trauma and psychological stress behind an sexual agression, in a quite free society like french one, patriarchy is still strong, even in women's opinion, so in a conservative indian society it's worse when a woman dare to expose and assume her independency and feminity, she will be seen as a temptress and the faulty who tentalize men who's behaviour will never been questionned , because men are bees and women flowers, and for famous people, their image and social status protect them

Many ppl comment on why it took so long for her to come out publicly after so many yrs. But only those who have gone thru what she has gone thru will understand her. It is easier to stand up against and point out the criminal when he is a stranger. But it's not easy when he is known to the victim. Firstly, it will take time to digest what had happened. 2ndly, comes the endless questions and guilt. Will anyone believe me? Especially if that person has a certain standing in the society. Thirdly, we will start questioning if we were in any way responsible of what has happened. Then the fear that taking action against that person may backfire. The only solution to this issue is to bring up a well mannered next generation.. My Mom used to say if you get cursed by a woman it will not just bring you down, it ll eventually hunt your family predecessors as well. Though this sounds very superstitious.. Since this get registered in at very young mind you never harm any woman easily.
