How to register your script in TCWA :
First of all you have to register your self as a associate member by paying registration fee Rs.15,000/- or life member of 25,000/-. There are three levels for the registered members, if you are a well established and named writer you will belongs to level 1. If you have already worked for any released movie and your name used in titles as a writer you would be given as second level and finally the third level is entry level, it will be a little bit tough to register your script. Why because, for your script registration you must bring a letter from a Writer that you have worked under him/her and he should be a member of this association.
Your Renewal membership fee will be Rs.500/- per year, if you want to become a lifetime member of the association your name has to come in at least one film.
Ok, the registration process completed. Now you are a member of this association and you are eligible to register your script, to write the script you should follow the rules of the association in script writing. First of all you have to fold the paper vertically, you should write the script on the top of the margin and at the bottom the association leaves a stamp on each copy of your script. They charge Rs.300/- for every 25 pages. The script will be return back to you. No one would read your script there. In case of any issues on your script like a script has been copied by someone else then the association checks the registration dates of both the scripts. Who ever has done it earlier would be declared as the genuine owner of it. If any one of them didn’t register the script then they’ll stand on the losing side. The stamp indicates the date of the registration. The judging factor in deciding the deserved candidate. Based on this only action would be taken.
How to reach Writers Association in Hyderabad: TCWA Address
From Yousufguda basti take the lane towards Yellareddyguda. After few yards you will find a Y junction. The left road leads you to Ameerpet and the right road leads you to Srinagar colony. Just beside the road towards Srinagar colony there is one more road. reach to the dead end and you will find the Writer’s Association. This can also be reached from Srinagar colony where you have to take the road opposite to the ATM’s complex near Sri Satya Sai Nigamagamam and reach the before said Y junction.

SWA - Screen Writers Association (India)

Membership Types
FELLOW MEMBER
Fee: INR 3286/-
Validity: 3 years
Renewal Fee: Rs 72/-
Any person who has a passion for screenwriting is eligible for Fellow membership.
A Fellow member will be allowed to register his/her work at SWA. However, s/he will not be able to attend SWA AGMs or vote or stand for SWA elections. S/he can attend SWA events like seminars, conferences, workshops, etc., that are open to other members.
ASSOCIATE MEMBER
Fee: INR 4286/-
Validity: 3 years
Renewal Fee: Rs 72/-
The following can become an Associate Member with SWA:
Writers who have been professionally engaged, via a written legal contract, by a Producer#/Director*/Writer^ to write/co-write the Story, Screenplay or Dialogue or to write the Lyrics for two songs of a feature film/s (of a minimum of 70 minutes) or a TV show (cumulatively a minimum of 70 minutes) or film (of at least 70 minutes) in the digital media, or lyrics for two songs in music videos, with the first fee instalment, as per the contract, having been credited to the writer’s bank account.
The duration of Fellow membership will be three years, within which period s/he will either get himself/herself upgraded to Associate or Regular/Life category, or else the Fellow membership will expire. If s/he wishes to become a Fellow member again, s/he will have to reapply afresh for it by fulfilling all the application protocols.
REGULAR MEMBER
Fee: INR 7690/-
Validity: 1 year
Renewal Fee: Rs 120/-
The following can become a Regular Member with SWA:
Writers who have had their work released as a Feature Film (minimum of 70 minutes) in a cinema hall for ticketed viewing, with the credit of either Story, Screenplay, Dialogue, Lyrics or Written by.
LIFE MEMBER
Fee: INR 21,000/-
Validity: Lifetime and No Renewal Fee
Any Regular member or a person eligible to become a Regular member can become a Life Member and would not require paying the monthly subscription thereafter.
