He is a irresponsible and impatient, reckless guy. Both Chacha Batija are playing games. Like a Trojan horse Sharad Pawar sent his most trusted guys like prapul Patel, Chaggan Vhujbal and a couple of other trusted guys along with Ajit. Basically, he wanted her daughter to be in Parliament. Accordingly she got elected, now Sharad Pawar left his nephew in a lurch. BJP is aware of his tricks right from the beginning. Though he was DCM, he was kept at a distance by both CM & other BJP DCM Devendra Fadnavis It was a fact that Ajit had a good support of MLAs backed him to form a government along with BJP. But later most of them developed cold feet backed out. Sharad Pawar was shocked by this move & conspiracy and warned those MLAs to fall-in or else face public rath. When MVA Government formed Ajit said it's easy to handle 2 party coalition than 3 parties. He was right. It's expected most of the NCP MLAs & Party workers will move towards BJP & Congress.
