INGREDIENTS:
Flattened rice flakes ( brown / white ) - 2 cups
Grated coconut- 1 cup
Grated jaggery - 1 cup
Roasted Cashew nuts - a handful or less ( optional )
Cardamom powder- optional
PREPARATION:
1. Dry roast the rice flakes on medium flame until it becomes crispy. Turn off the flame and grind into a fine powder.
2. Coarsely grind the roasted cashew nuts.
3. Take a bowl and mix the grated coconut and grated jaggery until it blends well. You can also use a blender to do it.
4. Add the ground cashews and mix well using hands.
5. Put the powdered rice flakes little by little and mix well with the coconut jaggery mix.
6. Now the mix is ready. Shape into small balls by using your hands.
7. Aval undas are ready to use.
