1962 ൽ കേരള ശബ്ദം വാരികയുടെ ആദ്യ ലക്കത്തിൽ Sir CP യുടെ interview ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതായി വായിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. അതിൽ , തന്നെ തിരുവിതാംകൂറിൽ കുറച്ചു കാലം കൂടി തുടരാൻ അനുവദിച്ചെങ്കിൽ തിരുവിതാംകൂറിനെ നമ്പർ വൺ ആയി മാറ്റിയേനെ എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു. അടുത്ത 25 വർഷം കഴിയുമ്പോൾ തൻറെ വില എന്താണ് മനസ്സിലാക്കുമെന്നും പറഞ്ഞതായി ഉണ്ട്. ചില ക്രൂരമായ നടപടികൾ ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിലും, തിരുവിതാംകൂറിനെ, പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് തിരുവനന്തപുരത്തെ 1930 കളിൽ തന്നെ ആധുനിക നഗരമാക്കിയത് CP യാണ്. (Airport, water Authority, Transport, Telephone, power house electricity, Hospitals ,star hotel.etc).

വളരെ നന്നായി അവതരിപ്പിച്ചു, കുറച്ചു നേരത്തേക്ക് എങ്കിലും പഴയ കാലത്തേക്ക് തിരിച്ചുപോയി. സർ സിപി ഒരു സംഭവം തന്നെ. ഇന്ന് തിരുവനന്തപുരം വഴുതകാടുള്ള ആകാശവാണി നിലയം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന ഭക്തി വിലാസം ബഗ്ലാവ് ആയിരുന്നു സർ സിപി യുടെ വസതി. അക്കാലത്തു ഈ വസതിക്ക് മുന്നിലെ റോഡിൽ കൂടി പോകുന്ന വാഹനങ്ങൾ ഹോൺ മുഴക്കാൻ പാടില്ലായിരുന്നു എന്ന് കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്?

An excellent presentation. Whether CP is a villain or benevolent leader? It depends on the consequences of his action. In fact he is a bureaucrat and carrying out the wishes of ruling class. The trappings of power made him and his class to think about independent Travancore. But the political agitations and will of the people is to make it part of Indian democracy. The administthrative reforms Kingdom has made is praiseworthy as infrastructural and industrial developments made by them still prevails. When excess of power exploits the common man the resistance through revolutionary like Mani is natural and that event ultimately made CP is run away from power and Travancoremocratic India. Only an educated and democratic aware citizens can resist autocrats. CP story is example of how bureaucrats born and brought up and what cultural setting they belongs and what kind of ideological moorings they lacks.

പുന്നപ്ര വയലാറിൽ ഇത്രയധികം ആളുകൾ മരിക്കാൻ കാരണം കഴിവുകെട്ട പാർട്ടി നേതൃത്വം തന്നെയായിരുന്നു. Camp പിരിച്ചുവിടാൻ govt notice വിതരണം ചെയ്തിരുന്നു TV തോമസ് camp പിരിച്ചു വിടാൻ പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു. അന്ന് അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തിരുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ ഇത്രയും പേരെ കുരുതി കൊടുക്കേണ്ടി വരില്ലായിരുന്നു. പിന്നെ എല്ലാവരും സിപി രാമസ്വാമി അയരെ ആണ് കുറ്റപ്പെടുത്തുന്നത്. സിപി രാജാവിന്റെ ശമ്പളക്കാരൻ മാത്രം ആയിരുന്നു. പൂർണ ഉത്തരവാദിത്തം രാജാവിന് ആണലോ? ആരും അത് പറയുന്നില്ല.

Sir C.P. is a great administrator and scholar. It is good he left Kerala and joined Annamalai University in Tamil Nadu as Vic Chancellor. I wish someone do a comparative study of Travancore state then and the situation in Kerala at present. Also a comparison of Sir C.P and the present CM will be very interesting.
