വളരെയധികം പേർ പക്കാല കീർത്തനം പാടുന്നത് നേരിൽ അനുഭവിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. എന്നാൽ ദാസ്സേട്ടൻ്റെ ആലാപനത്തോളം ആസ്വാദ്യകരമായി തോന്നിയിട്ടില്ല വേറെയൊന്നും. ഭാവം, താളം, ലയം, സാഹിത്യം, ശബ്ദം ഇവയെല്ലാം പരസ്പര പൂരകങ്ങൾ! ദൈവത്തിന് നന്ദി ഇങ്ങനെ ഒരാളെ നമുക്ക് തന്നതിനു്!
എന്താണ് എഴുതേണ്ടതെന്ന് എനിക്കറിയില്ല. എന്റെ കണ്ണുകൾ നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കാലത്ത് ജീവിച്ചതിൽ ശരിക്കും അഭിമാനിക്കുന്നു.അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കൈകളിൽ സംഗീതം മികച്ചതാണ്.മുഹമ്മദ് റാഫിക്കും മറ്റ് ബോളിവുഡ് ഗായകർക്കും(തീർച്ചയായും അവർ നല്ല ഗായകരാണ്) വേണ്ടി വാദിക്കുന്നവർ ദയവായി കെ ജെ യേശുദാസിന്റെ ഈ ദിവ്യ സംഗീതം കേൾക്കൂ.

Uncomparable !!! I even doubt if all malayalees really know what is 'Yesudas'. Perhaps he is the best singer the world has ever produced. Dasettan's "Pakkala" and Ksheerasagara" are exceptional. Nobody in this world handle Classical Music and Cinematic/Light music parallely like him. He is a 'total' musician.
Yes...true...he is a musician...learnt classical and practises it...,but sings any type of songs with melody at the core....he is unique and an exception.

3 complete octaves plus 3 notes in the 4th octave in C scale.. A voice that is spread over three categories- baritone, tenor and alto.. OMG! Who disliked this? There are many hard-core Carnatic fans who don't consider KJY's voice suitable for kacheris, but everyone does accepts that he is the undisputable Gana-Gandharvan. A very rare voice which which has its own legacy. I literally grew up listening to Dassettans voice and has got my inspiration in music from that only. Especially his redention of Harivarasanam.
He is the ultimate ..someone disliked him for the talent... That's all.. Even I don't know the musical notes.. But he s god's creation for music ..🙏 Music deserve this talent..🙏🙏🙏

Yes look at the range 14.40 and within 5-6 secs he touches again the peak note. Was a bit worried how the throat did not break. Just unbelievable that human voice can do such magic.

Krishna, a minor group who are too religious minded, so called traditionalists, especially people in Music Academy, only criticize him. Dr. K. J. Yesudas is undoubtedly extraordinary in music because of his devotion to Guru, his Sadhana. I have attended 100s of his concerts and many other Artists during Margazhi season in Chennai. I couldn't explore this depth and richness in alapana for any other artist. We are blessed indeed to live during his time.. divine soul..
yesudas is undoubtedly one of the foremost exponents of Carnatic style of singing,he catches you transfixed by his extraordinary delineation of raga alapana,and takes music to transcendental levels of experience,and makes rendition a novel art in itself.
Dr. K. J. Yesudas is master of Carnatic Music. His rendering of Karaharapriya Raga is superlative. What a voice. Really pleasant to hear. God bless him with long life and good health to continue to entertain us.
Dasettan has beaten himself with this wonderful rendition. This is easily one of his best Carnatic Classical song. Perfect, divine, marvelous, soulful and mesmerizing with out of this alapanas , gamakas & sustaining of notes. His voice was in sync with Violin and Tampura. So sad that this audio is cut off. My respectful salutations to Vidwan Dr. Sri KJY and his excellent accompanists in this rendition. I have had the rare privilege of listening to the great classical maestro at the MYSORE PALACE.. DASARA FESTIVITIES CELEBRATIONS,...he was a treat to all those fine connoisseurs of Carnatic music.who regaled and enjoyed in ecstatic-joy, that music, which he has such mastery over. music has no boundaries and it is universal in its content and conveyance.
l am a learner in karnataka vocal music. My inspiration is sri guru JESUDAS garu. I like very much Karaharapriya - pakkalanilabadi by sri Jesudas garu.
I have no qualification to comment on him.. Since from ten years old, I have been an ardent fan of him. Now I am 68 years old. In all those years I lived here I had no days wthout hearing him. God gave him for us , music bless
Most wonderful rendering of Kharaharapriya. I had heard this in 1981 when I was in Muscat. I saw a cassette and the shop onwner warned me it is not film songs of KJY and he will not take it back if I tried to return. I took two cassettes, which were private recordings. I lost this one, or it got damaged in India. KJY takes us to the highs and lows of the raaga. We are lost in time. I bought this cassette when I had no clue of Karnatic. I developed taste from this. Sweet and strong...
