I am now 70 and I heard this song sung by M S S Ji when I was 30 years old via tape played on National Panasonic flat tape recorder which I bought for Rs. 750 (concessional price) in 80 in company's distributors and service centre in first floor of Caramel buildings, Ernakulam. I purchased it primarily to listen the classics of MSS ji, Sri Jesudas and Sri Balamuralikrishna. Since then I heard this song countless times. I will continue to enjoy this classic and it takes me to a different world. Vulgar videos and gimmick videos receive millions of hits and views but, so sad, views for this classic are few lakhs. Anyhow, who am I to question others' tastes. Those who listen these classics are blessed.

I used to live near M S Amm s house . Not a day went by without our listening to her divine voice . I am glad my parents encouraged us to listen to such stalwarts singing .

MS Amma is divine singer! My daily routine starts with listening to MS Ammas renditions of various Gods including her Vishnu Sahasranamam and her Anamayya kritis while I am doing my daily chores! I feel that is the greatest advantage of the discovery of cell phones and internet! After my lunch I am wil be engrossed in Ammas carnatic classical renditions including her cutcheries of Madras music Academy! I just feel I have gone into Samadhi stithi!
My grand son five years old learning just now carnatic music.At the moment of starting Alapana ,grand son identified raga as Karakara Priya. Divine music indeed.

This edition has taken me back to my early school days I used to listen to the kutcheries of eminent legendary musicians of those days along with my sister and mother.There is no equal for M S Amma. We have missed her .I am now 71 years of age

I feel reborn every time I listen to this... I will meet you both one day in the afterlife, and I will kiss and wipe your feet with my tears, with no inhibition or shame, as I will to do the same to our Creator of this Universe and the same to my parents for bringing me into this Universe and nurturing me like Gods. MS voice is melodious voice Her musical concert was held in my village MELATTUR around 1967 and the programme lasted 4 1/2 hrs The whole audicence was spell found She had donated 2 soverign gold to my villsge temple
This Karagara priya Raga is an excellent one rendered by Smt M.S. Subbulakshmi. I heard the same song 45 years before when I was 24 years in Mylapore fine arts Club at Chennai.

Amma is Vagdevi personified. Look at the venue, she’s sitting under a tree. This kind of humility is sorely missing with modern day singers. I was listening to M.S after nearly 5 years.Her rendering Karaharapriya is the top artist singing top Raga,a combination that Carries one to the highest level of spiritual experience.It was an experience that cannot be forgotten.

When I was in 10th class ,we had a lesson about MS amma. at that time TVs were not available .Only radios .My science sir brought radio to our tuition centre to make us listen M.S .Amma songs ....She is sangeeta saraswathi.
She was germ in music and involvement.Best answer for those playing caste politics.Also note that she was recognised by highly orthodox people and treated her as Goddess Sarswati

M S Amma has always excelled in her exposition of karaharapriya, and I have had the good fortune of having listened to her karaharapriya quite a few times in live concerts, including an RTP. Even her interpretation of Annamacharya's immortal kriti with neraval at jagadeka pati mela is amazing. But then, her neravals always seem to mesmerize me taking me to different world altogether.

I did not dislike this video . What the beautiful rendition! It is probably young people who think this is not the right way to sing it. Some person has gotten 300k views singing it and in my opinion has ruined the song.
Those who did not have taste of and who can not taste also the eternal music i.e. classical music will dislike sir, why should we care for their dislikes. There's a poem stanza in Telugu "cheppu thinedu kukka cheraku theeperuguna"
Thanks to my dear father (late) Sri Khandrika Sambasiva Rao garu, I had the fortune of learning some ragas out of which Khanraharapriya is the best. Also, it should be heard from Chembai's Voice. In Visakhapatnam in 1936 when Chembai sang this, it can be heard from a distance of 10 miles without any speakers then.
