There is an issue if your searching for support groups before going to a qualified Therapist.Victims of narcissistic mothers sometimes display narcissism themselves.There is also a learned defence mechanism involved because of long term narc abuse imo, those behaviours tend to dissipate.There are people who shared such experiences. So first you attend Therapy by finding a qualified professional and then they'll guide you to better support groups and how to manage them.

അച്ഛൻ എന്നോട് അടുപ്പം കാണിക്കുമ്പോളും അതിൽ പ്രശ്നം ഉണ്ടാക്കുക, അച്ഛൻ എത്തിയാൽ ഉടനെ എന്റെ കുറ്റങ്ങൾ പറഞ്ഞു അച്ഛനെ കൊണ്ട് വഴക്ക് പറയിക്കുക, ഒരു teacher ആയിരുന്ന അമ്മ അവരുടെ students ന്റെ മുന്നിൽ എന്നെ insult ചെയ്യുക ഇതൊക്ക ആണ് എന്റെ അനുഭവങ്ങളിൽ ചിലത്. എന്റെ അടുത്ത കൂട്ടുകാർ എന്നോട് പറയുമായിരുന്നു നീ വീട്ടിൽ ഒരാളും പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയാൽ മറ്റൊരാളും ആണെന്ന്. One day my neighbour came to my house....she entered kitchen and saw my mother making sambar....she pointed out why u put tomato in sambar and make fun of my mother for putting tomato.....the moment my mother told it was me who put tomato...that time I was only 7 or 8 yrs.....never started to cook....still I am remembering that incident

ഞാനും ഒരു victim ആണ്. എൻ്റെ husband ന് ആണ് പ്രശ്നം. 33 വർഷങ്ങൾ കടന്നുപോയി. എൻ്റെ എല്ലാ കഴിവുകളും അടിച്ചമർത്തപ്പെട്ടു. എന്തോ ഒരു പേടിയായിരുന്നു. ഈയടുത്തകാലത്താണ് ഈ രോഗം എന്താണെന്ന് മനസ്സിലായത്. വളരെ struggle ചെയ്ത് ജീവിച്ചു. അതിനിടെ അമ്മ എന്ന നിലയിൽ ഞാനെൻ്റെ മക്കൾക്ക് സ്നേഹം പകർന്നു നൽകി. അവർ മിടുക്കരായി വളർന്ന് എഞ്ചിനീയർമാരായി

എന്റെ വീട്ടിലും ഉണ്ട് ഇങ്ങിനെയൊരു വ്യക്തി. പക്ഷേ ആരുമത് മനസ്സിലാക്കുന്നില്ല എന്ന് തോന്നുന്നു. ഇത് ഓരോ കുടുംബങ്ങളിലും പ്രശ്നങ്ങളുണ്ടാക്കുന്നു. കുറെയൊക്കെ ക്ഷമിച്ചും അവഗണിച്ചുമാണ് മുന്നോട്ട് പോകുന്നത്. അദ്ദേഹത്തോട് വലിയ വിദ്വേഷം തോന്നാറുണ്ട്. കൂടുതൽ വിവരങ്ങൾ തന്നതിൽ സന്തോഷം .

29 വർഷം സഹിച്ചു. ഈ കഴിഞ്ഞ വർഷമാണ് എല്ലാം ശരിയായത്. അനുഭവിച്ചതിൻ്റെ ഒക്കെ trauma ഇനി എത്ര കാലം ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നറിയില്ല. എന്തായാലും വീട്ടിൽ ഇപ്പൊൾ മനസ്സമാധാനം ഉണ്ട്. 29 വയസ്സിൽ പോലും എന്നെ അനാവശ്യമായി ശാരീരികമായി ഉപദ്രവിക്കുന്ന സ്വഭാവമായിരുന്നു. ഏറ്റവും സങ്കടം അനിയനോട് നേരെ തിരിച്ചാണ് പെരുമാറ്റം എന്നതാണ് വിരോധാഭസം.

Emotional detachment is the only way. Not only my mother one of my co sister is also a narssisist. A suffered lot of back stabbing from both of them. Now i am a Black sheep in my own family and my husband's family .. i don't care anymore.

Motherhood is truly over rated in our society, it gives them enough power itself to hide behind a facade of nobleness while doing the evil things to the peak! I could 100% agree with this topic.. for her the money she spend on my basic necessities are the sign she's a good mother, so I should obey her, thats the entitlement. Even I've paid back enough, provide support to her and family in all aspects it doesnt count at all.I wonder why she never have an account for how much she spend on her Raja betas. Narc moms targets daughters the most tbh!😢

I have suffered it for 24 yrs without knowing anything but just blaming myself for being not good enough as per mummy's expectations.. I have always been topper throughout my studies but never achieved anything in my life even at the age of 35 yrs bcoz I was always running to meet the unrealistic dreams I had in plight to satisfy her .. Unfortunately I too had lots of worst childhood memories from my narc parents.including physical abuse.I feel worthless , self doubt, mental stress,..... Ect.. Ect. They are ambitious very much. I can't reach upto their dreams.. I feel painful inside when think about my past childhood .. I never do like this to my child. I will give a beautiful childhood as I can. and always emotionally present to my baby. Do it same😢.

Karthik this is a highly relevant topic and you have done an amazing job breaking it down in layman's language. 👍🏽 it would have been too good if you also picked relatable clips instead of Barbara and her narcissistic mom you selected in the intro. Please create a 3 part series to this topic -- there are plenty of moms thinking/assuming it's cultural norm acceptable to be a tantrum, to put down their children before others, constantly criticising their children, setting unreachable standards of achievement, behaviour, looks, styling and what not for their child's life and passing it as "wanting the best for the child"

I was a victim. But i realised it early and educated me about this.. Now i don't wait for her approval anymore. I do what i like and i don't expect her to be happy for my achievements. I found many good frnds who stand with me and share my emotions.Thanks to social media which helped me to come out of the shell. I cured myself without any therapy. Iam proud that i live with her still but not affected by her anymore. I became a teacher and is a support for many students who go through similar life situations. Thanks for your concern for people like us. 🙏🏼😊

I am a veterinary doctor... I was also a victim... Had clinical depression/ anxiety disorder before.... Ended in a toxic relationship during my twenties... 3 psychiatric doctors,4 psychologists... Iniyum healing complete ayitilla... Your words encourage me... Praying for you 😊

Hello karthik Thankyou for this video I felt like u were exposeing my life 😅 it is exactly what is happening to me, i took help and went for counseling for almost 2 years and i was in peace but then things changed my mom understood what ever she is telling is not effecting me so she changed the strategy i mean she increased the gravity in attacking me, she started humiliating me in front of neighbors and relatives meanwhile i got a job and i moved out and again the strategy changed as i was away she started abusing my grandparents who were my only support, she delayed food for them, verbally abuseing them and this hurted me a lot. As it was my first job i bought dress and gifts for everyone when i came back home, my mom didnt say anything when i gave her the dress but the next week my other family members came for the festival in the near by temple and i was out with my grandfather and when we came back , my mother took the dress and told everyone see what my daughter bought and then she throwed it on to my face. This incident just distroyed my mental health and i started questioning my worth...i am still trying to overcome it and this incident is still a nightmare.

I couldn’t stop my tears because this was what I went through in my childhood. I have been there, crying in front of the lunch box. I didn’t know till very recent time that I was dealing with an NPD mother. I used to tell my husband about what all I had to go through and how lonely I was. It took a lot of time for us to figure out that something was wrong with her. During the initial days of marriage, my husband used to say, it’s your mother, so you need to forgive her. But later he understood that she is like this. She didn’t even accompanied me to the hospital with me while I was carrying my child and at the time of the delivery, she made some lame reason to stay at home. All these have left a deeper wound in my heart. Somehow, now I have learned to set boundaries and trying to heal myself from the trauma that I had to endure.

My husband’s mother is a narcissist…he was the scapegoat….after marriage I literally rescued him …after so much of researches about this …I now know how to handle my mom in law …and what she deserves…I put her in the right place .. first thing I did was living separately in our own home…i used to neglect her opinion …all I give is a cold reaction with my confident face …hahaha if we can live independently then who cares her opinion I now know what is her very next action and plan everything accordingly….i defeated her in everything..I defeated her plans ..her golden child is still trapped inside her home suffering…even his wife has left the home…

@hiiamkartik u ve done a wonderful work standing at ur limitations as you r nit a psychologist.. u ve done a good research.. recently i heard a suicide of 26 yr old boy .. later it us turned out that the reason behind death is his narc mom.. if i had heard this video earlier i could have saved one life

Correct. From very young these kind of women try to make the children,their emotional slaves. Never understood how could one show love towards such a self centred indifferent mother?
