1968 മുതൽ 10 വർഷത്തോളം ഞാനും ഭർത്താവും സൗരാഷ്ട്രയിലെ സ്ഥിരം കസ്റ്റമേഴ്‌സ് ആയിരുന്നു. പിന്നീട് തിരുവനന്തപുരം വിടേണ്ടി വന്നു. തിരുവന്തപുരത്തു പോകുന്നത് വല്ലപ്പോഴുമായി. ഒരിക്കൽ തപ്പിപ്പിടിച്ചു ചെന്നെങ്കിലും കട തുറന്നിരുന്നില്ല. ഇപ്പോൾ തീരുമാനിച്ചു ഒരു ദിവസം tvm ത്തു stay ചെയ്തിട്ടായാലും സൗരാഷ്ട്ര യിൽ പോകുക തന്നെ. ഓർമ്മപ്പെടുത്തിയതിനു നന്ദി ലക്ഷ്മി.

Hi Lekshmi, I am gujarati raised in Kerala. This restaurant just has the name Gujarati, does not look like the food is authentic Gujrati. Recipes mentioned does not go well with our food, if they add curd, the dish can be called kadhi. Looks like kadhi, but the recipe does not match. Also, Jain food does not have potatoes either… anyway, thanks for sharing

Mine also shopping from parthas and poori from Saurashtra. Early years saurashtra looks like nalukette with bench & desk , very nostalgic.Aviduthe payer curry very tasty. Very nice video.

With 50 paise we could enjoy a sumptuous dinner from this Gujarati hotel.The hotel owner's son was my College mate . We studied in MG College, Trivandrum during 1969_72 period.I and my cousin used to visit the hotel almost every Sunday. After that went to Sreekumar Theatre and watched English movies.Very good memories of that period.

Hai mam. എറണാകുളം താമസിക്കുന്ന എനിക്ക് മാം മിന്റെ വ്ലോഗ് കണ്ട് കണ്ട് തിരുവനന്തപുരം ഇപ്പോൾ നല്ല പരിചയം ആയി. എന്നെങ്കിലും ഒരിക്കൽ തിരുവനന്തപുരം വന്നാൽ മാമിനെ കാണാൻ വരും തീർച്ച. ❤️❤️❤️

In 1971 they used to charge Re 1 and will give unlimited food. At that time I used to eat 20 to 25 puris for Re 1. Whenever I used to visit TVM I will go to this restaurant.

Njangal Amritsaril poyapol pooriku famous aayitolla oru cheriya hotelil poyi. Enna taste aayirunnu. Pala karikalum itupole ulli pinne aviduthe oru lassi. Athinde taste ippolum navinthumpil undu. North Indian dishes are very tasty.

This is hands down the best poori I have ever had... Usually pooris are so oily but not this one. There won't be even a drop of oil in this poori and the whole combination along with masala chai is both out of the world and comforting at the same time

1980കളിൽ ഉച്ചഭക്ഷണമായി അൺലിമിറ്റഡ് ഫുക്കാ ചപ്പാത്തിയും (കനലിൽ ചുട്ട ചപ്പാത്തി ) അതിനു ശേഷം പച്ചരി ചോറും, ഇതേ പോലെ കറികളുമായിരുന്നു , അതിനടുത്തു തന്നെ ജോലിയായിരുന്നതിനാൽ ഉച്ചക്ക് സ്ഥിരം വന്ന് പത്തു പന്ത്രണ്ട് ചപ്പാത്തിയും ചോറും കഴിച്ചിരുന്നു ,ആദ്യം പതിനാറു രൂപയായിരുന്നെന്നാണോർമ്മ ,ഇതിന് ശരിക്കും തിരുവനന്തപുരം ബന്ധമില്ല , അതിനടുത്തൊരു പഴയ രണ്ടു നിലയുള്ള ഗുജറാത്തി ബിൽഡിംഗും, ഗുജറാത്തി കുടുംബങ്ങളുമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു , അവർ നടത്തിയിരുന്ന ഭക്ഷണശാലയായിരുന്നു എന്നാണറിവ്

എത്രയായാലും പരശുരാം എക്സ്പ്രസിൽ നിന്നും രാവിലെ കഴിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരുന്ന പൂരീ മസാലയുടെ ( പൂരീ മസാലാ... പൂരീ മസാലാ.... ) taste കാണില്ല. പഴയ പത്തു പൈസയുടെ വലുപ്പമേയുള്ളെങ്കില്ലെന്ന് ,ചിലപ്പോൾ റബ്ബർഷീറ്റ് വട്ടത്തിൽ കണ്ടിച്ചുണ്ടാക്കിയതാണെങ്കിലെന്ത്? എന്താ അതിന്റെ taste. ഒന്നു ഫുൾ ആയി ചുരുട്ടിക്കൂട്ടിയിട്ടാൽ കവിളിന്റെ ഒരു കോണിലേ വരൂ. കൂടെ പൈപ്പുവെള്ളത്തിന്റെ ചായയും. എന്നാലും ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു പോകും.

71 ൽ മിക്കവാറും പല ദിവസങ്ങളിലും വൈകുന്നേരത്ത് ആ ചെറിയ നാലുകെട്ടിൽ അവിടത്തെ ചെറിയ പൂരിയും കറികളും ( ഉള്ളി, പച്ചമുളക്, ചെറുപയർ തുടങ്ങിയ ) ആസ്വദിക്കാറുണ്ടായിരുന്നു
