Maitreyan is right. Most Indians abroad are facing an identity crisis. I recently worked with an NRI in the US who, after living there for decades, has now turned to writing books on Theyyam and Hindu culture. I worked on the translation of the book into English, where in it's preface, he wrote about his "identity crisis" living in a foreign country. He felt like he's forgetting his cultural and religious roots, which led him to fund (along with others) revive the Chirackkal Chamundi Festival back in 2022. He recorded the event with film crews and finally wrote a book on it to market to the US public. He is willing to invest a significant amount of money in this endeavor. Incidents like these provide clear evidence that the rise of Modi can be also linked to the isolation experienced by Indians in foreign lands.

I see a lot of BJP bashing. But let's not forget the perpetrators of corruption. 60 years of congress rule left India with 83 percent illiteracy. And in 60 years they were unable to remove caste and religious divide among us. Can we agree. Can we agree that nehru enjoyed people's trust to the level that if he said zero tolerance to religious and caste based mindset, would it have changed india's demographics If he insisted on good and quality education in public education system, would india have a much more ruly and democratic sensed public. Is that the curse of the day And would it have been easier for him. You agree that he was seen as the one and only one who single handedly won our freedom. And therefore bringing his daughter above all else was not considered dynasty rule, but the only norm. Eventually have they established that only their name is evident in every govt projects, making this their country. Isn't that why congress is afraid they will fall apart unless Rahul leads it. The very fact that our country had separate matrimonial law based on religion made me feel different from my best friend Last week when I read that Reddy's of Andhra are traditionally congress voters, I knew our democracy was a farce by our leaders for our short-sighted countrymen I am not for bjp... But the other two day I spoke to a man who owns an electronic org... He had one thing to say... Doing business has become far easier. And corruption is being curtailed atleast for businesses. I guess that is the best place to start. GST has made life easier. Increased govt tax collections, has made all pay. Removing article 370 has made kashmir an integral part of India', no more 'amaybe' Government prior to him procrastinated. Govt earlier to him coined GST, but was scared to implement, india had the most complex and unnecessarily confusing tax. And all this was possible cause u have to fight a party which ruled thru a family for sixty years, gave india IIT n IIMs, but ensured 89 percent remained illiterate at the end of sixty years of independence. A party whose coffers run deeper than India's budget. Who ensured all those who came into power in between remained a one time wonder ( morarji Desai etc). Who proved that you can win elections in india by dividing the vote in the name of caste, religion etc (we need to hang out head in shame when u hear a word like 'dalit or SC or' still exist in this country). 90 percent of IITians and iim grad do not work or so not wish to work in india. those who read this belong to 15 percent of litterate population. Politicians are interested in the remaining 85 percent ( remember we are a democracy). So our country is like an organisation where u ask the janitor to vote on a decision, and what the janitor wants is money and he is swayed by small term benefitsy). That is why our elections are a 'joke' We can do this sort of intellectual mastr......, First and foremost we are not fit for democracy... Indira Gandhi *once famously said 'sometimes I feel our parliament system is moribund, everything is debated and nothing gets done'...* We needed a leader like Lee of Singapore who was a visionary, loved his country over his party or himself (nehru wanted to be known as chacha (like Gandhi bapu)). After independence his words were revered and people would have listened to him, the whole of India... All he had to say was, ' ur religion is indian and not hindu muslim Christian...' and any sort of fanatism in the name of religion (conversions), language would have zero tolerance,.. but what he did is the cross we carry today...
