Absolutely correct. My dad imported a brandnew Audi A6 35 TFSI back in 2016. It is definitely better than all Japanese and Korean vehicles we have owned. Since 2006, we have had NZT 240 Allion, NZT 260 Allion / Premio, Kia Sorento, Mazda Axela, and Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Compared to all of these, maintaining our Audi was very expensive. In the first 3 years, basic services were about 80,000 rupees. But, in certain services, we had to replace some parts like dics, bushes, thermostat, etc. In those times, the service fee by Drive One was more than 400,000 LKR. We still have it and for next July the vehicle will be 8 years. Although it is expensive to maintain, it is far better and long lasting than Japanese vehicles. Buying a German luxury is never an investment, one should buy it if they can afford to take good care of it.

I have driven a 1999 Peugeot for 5 years and now bought a BMW E46. I sold my Peugeot for a very reasonable price. I don't think all of your points are correct. But some are okay. Sri Lanka has a very stupid vehicle market mafia made by car sales. Those days most of the people told me not to buy Peugeot and they are bad vehicles no parts bullshit. 406 is one of the best cars I have driven. I don't think even a newer Japanese car can give that type of a driving pleasure. It is definitely comfortable and have a better driving experience than Vitz cause i have driven both 😅 Spare parts are relatively the same price as the Japanese counterparts. The problem is if the car was not maintained properly by the previous owners then it could be a headache "makabases" can destroy European cars. It's your responsibility to properly inspect the vehicle before buying.
