They still use electric drills, I was on the Island of Koh Phangan for 6 months back in 2015 and I couldn't believe that most of the houses and workshops don't use earth just twin flex and even then not double insulated, I was working as a sound man and Dj repairing their damaged sound system and the locals was amazed when they saw my Makita 18 volt kit, I think its because electric drills are so cheap, just a point of interest whilst I was repairing the cabinets I found that they used 6mm screws which was a tad too thin, I replaced them with larger 8mm gauge screws double coated (ZYP) dipped in 'Tallow' before I drove them in, the cabinets where made by TPA, nearly every screw sheared when I try to remove them, the whole PA system was outside and the sea air corroded the screws, always use quality screws and dip them in wax or tallow before you drive them in.
