Nam Wan is a Sweet Salted Coconut Milk Dessert. This is made throughout Asia. Each culture has their own take on making this.
Ideas 💡 You can make this with your choice of Tropical Fruit’s and Toppings. Served Cold or with Ice or Shaved Ice 🍧.
Recipe:
Khao Lod Song Pandan Jellies 👇🏻
1/2 Bag of Rice Flour or 8oz
1/4 Cup of Tapioca Starch
1/4 Cup of Mung Bean Starch (optional)
1/2 White Lime Stone Container
3-6 Drops of Pandan Flavor Food Coloring (optional)
Sweet Coconut 🥥 Sauce 👇🏻
1/4 of a Cup of Palm Sugar or Brown Sugar
1/4 Cup of Sugar or to your likings
1/4 of a Tsp of Salt 🧂 or a Dash
3-6 Pandan Leaves (optional)
Other things you can pair this up with 👇🏻
* Tropical Canned Fruits or Fresh.
* Tapioca Pearls, Mini’s Pearls, and Tapioca Shreds (you can find this packaged at Asian Supermarket in the Baking aisle).
Instructions 📝
1. Let you Lime Stone Paste sit in water (about 10-12 cups) for a few hours or over night.
2. In a mixing bowl, combine Tapioca Starch, Rice Flour, and Mung Bean Starch together.
3. Chop your Pandan Leaves to smaller pieces so this can be easier to blend.
4. Blend your Pandan Leaves with 8 Cups of the Lime Stone Solution (clear portion) Water.
5. Strain this for the Pandan Extract.
6. Combine and Whisk Pandan Extract with Rice Flour Tapioca Starch Mix (as shown in video). For a more greener color, use Pandan Flavor Food Coloring (3-6 drops, optional).
7. In a small pot, on low heat. Stir your Pandan Mix as shown in video. Keep stirring until you get a silk like pudding texture.
- If your cooking this for a Family, portion will be bigger. Meaning stir time can take anywhere from 35 mins to over an hour 😫😰
8. In a bowl, create an ice 🧊 water bath for your Pan Dan Khao Lod Song jellies.
9. Place mix into Khao Lod Song Presser. Press over ice 🧊 water to stop the cooking process.
