Thank you, Doctor. I was hoping you would explain the effect of carbohydrates on blood sugar. Many people consume large amounts of carbohydrates, not knowing the impact on the blood sugar, especially all the brown products like the whole-wheat bread, brown pasta, brown rice, etc. Let’s take one example. Let's say White pasta according to the nutrition facts written on the label; it says 71 grams of carbohydrates and 3 grams of Fiber per 100 grams of pasta. And if we see the brown pasta same brand, the amount of carbohydrates is 65.7 and 6.5 grams of fiber. After deducting the fiber, only 9 grams of carbohydrate is the difference which is not very significant. People in our society say ብላዕ ገለ ኣይብለካን እዩ ዘይ ካብ ስገም እዩ ተሰሪሑ እንዳበለ ብዙሕ ክበልዕ ኣብ ብዙህ ቦታ ትርኢ ኢኻ (the amount of the food). And according to some sources, consuming a large number of carbohydrates makes the body more insulin resistant and eventually weakens the pancreas.
