I can relate to your life journey Aklilu hawey. We Eritreas are modest people. We put others before us. We are taught this as children growing up back home to our detriment. Often I find myself frustrated because this wonderful tribute (putting othered before me) put me in a very dangerous situation especially in a work setting. Ppl took advantage of my kindness. They look credit for my hard work. They sabotaged my job! We Eritreans are to timid and too modest to speak up so ppl take advantage of us. We live in a very dark times sorry to say unfortunately. Ppl lost their mind and are ruthless at their core and will do anything to steal promotion that belongs to you. They lie and engage in covert and insidious activities to take you down at all cost if you dare to challenge them! Their lies are more believable than our truth! I know it sounds unbelievable but this is happened to me over and over again. At work, we don’t fight for our promotion and compensation that we deserve that reflects our hard work. Therefore we end up at the bottom of the barrel nothing to show for! Sad all around I know! SMH!

Thank you for sharing this wisdom💚💚💚 you already knew western is unfortunate for many of us abroad. The regret i have in my life is coming to Europe. It such a waste of time, energy, money, fortune and opportunity. Not only that you have also to deal with the mental and emotional damage in daily baises. Keep doing the great things in Africa, where you have a sense of belonginess, opportunity and demand.
