I had my degree from Addis Abeba university 12 years a go but had never seen him in person until my graduation day. So i cant agree with Yetnebersh. Any ways it's good to give honour to those who deserve it.
I think u were not on his presidency of AAU, b/c he was advisor of Meles Qizenawi at that time. In my thinking, he has a deep knowledge and he is academicaly quit brilliant professor. but, if he was working with Meles realy he did a lot of disasters on Ethiopia. He is responsible for the failurity of Ethiopia as Country, as Sovereign State. All those worst social, political and Economical destructions are a result of past 27 years tyrant woyane national mafia group legacy. Even Ethiopian natural humanity and a very prestigious moral principles are diminishing in alarming rate and ceasless racisim prevailed and got in the worst stage as we see today due to those mafia group. I wouldn’t deny the academic achievement of the Professor but there is no denial that he had greatly contributed to the agony of Ethiopian people. The promotions some of you had received to professorship does not justify the ill advice he had given to EPRDF. For me, he will go down in history as a betrayer to the Ethiopian people.
It is true that his office was open during his presidency of Addis Ababa University, but it was difficult to find him. I only saw him once during my five years stay. As I was crossing the street through the 5th door, he stopped the car and drove past me. I have seen his humility, I am grateful for that, and I bear witness to this still today. He didnt teach me in class, no words for that. Those who know his academic knowledge can testify. Sorry to say this but his political views and participations are not in line with his knowledge.
First time I saw Andrias was in 1986 in New York city at "Horn of Africa Conference". Dr. Birhanu Mega was one of the of the organizer along with Andrias. At that time he was advocating political and economical sanctions against Ethiopia. On a coffee break I asked him why he is for sanctions on a poor country like Ethiopia. Andrias was of the opinion that the Ethiopian government should approach the US congress and explain its case. That conference was held in 1986, 1987, 1988 and 1989. All anti-Derg forces were at all those conferences. Andrias and Birhanu were the chiefs coordinating the whole affairs.
It would be a very well balanced outlet if it was included the opinions of some individuals among " the 40 professors" who were dismissed from AAU. I don't think no one denies his academic credentials or scholar contribution, but the big question is what was his contributions to the betrayal of Ethiopia and Ethiopians during MP Melase era? Did he stopped or was he trying to defend the interest of the country or participated otherwise. I hope he will publish one book with his honest reflection so the next generation will learn from him . I think it's a honourable thing to do from his side and the next generation should give him respect and remember him with honour accordingly.

I liked and trusted the documentary.I used to doubt that there was something great in Professor Endreas though I was a former prisoner of EPRDF and the professor was a close friend of Prime minster Meles Zenawi.
