Thanks for the interview Radar! I’ve been on over 400 other podcasts, and truly this was one of the most fun conversations. Never been a guest for nearly two hours, and I loved every moment. Thanks for continually helping others and allowing me to pick your brain a bit, too. 🔥
Pat one thing to think of for your PSA10 pack completion you're going to complete. In general anyone who has been around for some time would argue most packs are sent to PSA light, as the heavy packs are usually sold away for a premium or opened. Since you will have to grade many of these packs yourself since the population is not there yet. If you can send in heavy packs that you can video log or prove is a Heavy later on if you are to sell one day it will ad a TON more value to your collection than if you can't prove they are heavy. As going forward with weighing packs being the regular thing, I think there will be a distinct difference in value later on even in the PSA case. I'm pretty sure one day PSA will make that distinction on their label due to the heavy packs being 3x Rarer right out of a booster box. As always just my thoughts and opinions. Best of luck to you!
@@pokeinvestmentsplus1579 wow, thank you! That’s huge value right there. I can imagine a Heavy distinction on a slab’s label that would definitely increase it’s value. Would then PSA be tasked to define what is actually heavy and light? I know there are packs that are often lighter than standard heavy, yet still contain a Holo. There are implications for sellers then if PSA were to define what is heavy and what is light. Super interesting... Thank you! Radar, what are your thoughts on this?
@@patflynn I would assume if the did take on the task of making the distinction they would have weight parameters set before doing so. I'd imagine it would be tricky as there is a big variation on the WOTC sets, especially with like BaseSet Jungle and Fossil having packs right on the cusp of heavy/light(though that could be a possible distinction too). When you get into Team Rocket set the packs can be all over the place so it would be harder the further out you get, I know I opened 1 1st edition Team Rocket box in the past and all holos were pulled from the 20.65-20.8 packs, The heavier and lighter ones in the box were all nonholo. For myself seeing the 2-4x value on raw packs being guaranteed heavy vs light I've really been thinking on if they(PSA) would initially go that route in the future years to come. It's interesting to speculate on at the least! Again Best of Luck to You! And Best of Luck to The Entire Pokemon Community!!
Not gonna lie, I saw Pat Flyns comments on a lot of youtube videos about pokemon tcg and thought it was weird, but now I know I was just to ignorant to understand the base and foundation of businesses, connections. Great lesson and lessons overall, very interesting and subscribed to deep pocket monsters. I liked that dialga, didn't understand why it was expensive, now I know. Keep it up, both of you
I have to say, im truly appreciating pats energy in the pokemon space. His thoughts and views on the pokemon universe are intriguing to say the least. I appreciate his honesty and his genuine excitement for the hobby. That type of energy is infectious. Thanks Radar, for another great pod cast
Loved the podcast. It's interesting to see Pat dive into a new area. I discovered SPI years ago when I was starting my personal finance blog which has turned into a freelance writing career. Neat to see Pat so excited about Pokemon and how he has applied everything he has learned from his other endeavors into the hobby and now a new channel.
I would be more than happy to pay for a subscriptions etc. I feel personally I have gained so much value listening to these podcasts not just how to approach pokemon investments but investments in general ontop of all over the interesting guests and hearing about how they got to where they are today. Keep up the solid work 😊👌🏻
Pat seems like the kid in high school that sat at a new lunch table everyday and was welcomed by everyone lol. I really liked this one some interesting topics and things to think about outside of pokemon cards specifically. I would pay for the blip and blep segment if you put it behind a wall haha. Those topics are 🔥, other people would probably want information that makes them 💰 though if I had to guess
Thanks Swammey! Truth be told, if I was the way I am now back in school, you’re probably right. Unfortunately, I was bullied a lot for being short and had incredibly low self esteem, and it was both Marching Band, and MTG that gave me an escape to hang with other nerds. In fact, I never had lunch on the tables. I was in the band room looking at cards, and pretending I had enough courage to talk to girls 😅 Thanks for listening to the podcast!
I recently found your podcast and love the content. I'm a returning tcg enthusiast who is taking the leap and starting his own business. Hopefully I can grow and become successful like you guys.
Love your podcast! Got back into collecting recently and have been watching a lot of your content. Listened to this episode on Apple Podcast while driving home from Milan, Italy today. Loved the fact that there weren't adds in the podcast, so regarding the ways to monetize I would personally prefer to pay a monthly subscription rather than have to listen to adds before or in the middle of the show interrupting the conversation. That might just be me though! Keep up the great work!!
Yeah Efour has some great information but it really is full of pieces of shit. I love when they get mad because people have simple question and they are just trying to learn lol but anyway. Another great podcast Radar
