Yet another great video. It is 2 degrees F today in northeastern Minnesota so I'm living life vicariously through your videos. They are a wonderful combination of entertainment and education. Thanks for taking me along.

Hi Rick! It was great meeting you as well. Joy has some family in Ohio so a trip up there this summer is definitely a possibility. We were up there this past summer and planned to ride the Tripple Nickle but they were doing a lot of surface paving so we took another route instead. We started in Parkersburg and made our way up to Senecaville Lake, then over to Columbus. Some great riding for sure. We do need to get back up there and ride the Tripple Nickle though. We will be in touch! -Larry

On my trip this July, we had to stop on the way back to gear up a bit just north of Atigun pass, so we did use our supplemental fuel on the way back as a precaution and I would have been extremely close. My riding partner would have made it with room to spare (he is significantly smaller than I am though). But we took the approach of we were stopped in a safe place so put the gas in rather than have to do it on the shoulder where it would not have been as safe. All in all an awesome experience and it is so fun seeing other people's take on it.

@LivinLifeLoud Год назад
Unless you are riding a GSA, I think supplemental fuel is a must for this trip. We had two gallons and only had to use one, but glad we had it. Thanks for watching!

@@LivinLifeLoud We were on Super Tenere's which have huge tanks as well. My buddy would have had probably 10-15 miles to spare and I would have either just made it or would have ran out rolling into Coldfoot had we not used the extra fuel. Good peace of mind if nothing else.

Hi Martin. We used four different GOPRO cameras. Most of the footage was from Joy's GOPRO Hero 10. I now have a GOPRO Hero 11 and it is a wonderful camera. I highly recommend! Have a nice trip this summer!

Hi Jo and Larry, great videos , watching from New Zealand myself and my wife are heading up that way next year in June and will basically ride from USA (Not sure where yet) and head up the Dalton highway we will hire or purchase bikes . Jo does the bike you are riding have a lowered seat ? My wife short in the leg and need something she can touch the ground on, and lastly, how heavily graveled are the gravel roads? Roads done here in NZ can be sketchy dependent on the time of year Keep the great vids coming Cheers Kevin
@LivinLifeLoud
@LivinLifeLoud Год назад
Hello Kevin. Yes, my BMW F900XR is a factory low suspension with a low seat. It has worked very well as a shorter rider. I also wear boots that add extra height to give a little extra too. For the gravel road question- it depends on the road and the type of gravel. I did not find that they were too graveled to navigate. The Dalton was in much better shape than I had expected. To be honest the bigger challenge for me on the trip was the road construction with wet dirt which was slippery. This was also my biggest challenge on the Dalton too. They wet the roads to keep the dust down for cars but makes it more challenging for us. Joy

This is no vacation and not worth getting stranded or injured when you lack shelter, an SUV is best for most and way more safer.
@LivinLifeLoud
@LivinLifeLoud Год назад
Thanks for your comment. Technically, we weren’t on vacation we were on an adventure. The SUV might be safer but the motorcycle is way more fun and that’s what an adventure is all about. I lived the majority of my life afraid of taking chances or risks and always playing it safe and was absolutely miserable. My life expanded 100 fold when I stepped out of my comfort zone and started Livin Life Loud which is why I continue to do so. To each his own. So, keep doing you. Joy
