There are two kinds of riders, them that have gone down. And them that are going down. You have graduated to them that have gone down and have more experience now. Glad you made it through ok!!
Thanks. I actually stress fractured my foot in that clip. Didn’t know for sure until we got back home. I was afraid to go get it looked at. I feared they would tell me to stay off it or boot it.. lol. I figured my motorcycle boots were as good an a boot.
Thanks again for showing us your travels. When one of my friends drops their bike or has some other adverse occurrence, we let them ride up front or at least we don't leave them in the back of the pack. This lets them set their own comfortable pace, allows us to see if the bike has received any damage and helps us keep an eye on the rider to make sure they are okay. Just a thunk, S
Thank you so much for sharing this. I like that idea. I usually prefer to follow but can see the benefit of leading in this situation. We’ll keep that in mind for future situations.
Well if your going to dump your bike you picked a beautiful place Muncho Lake to do it .. Glad you and the bike were ok and your trip could continue .. Cheers eh !!
@@iceairportakIt is not easy to find people to be off for 5-6 weeks. Last year I wanted go to Alaska I could not find anyone available the same time as me. I posted in many FB groups but no luck. On top of that they stole my bike. I hope this year I will have a change to go there.
It is really sad along the highways seeing how many businesses simply no longer exist post covid isn't it? Glad you are ok. As others have said welcome to the club none of us want to be in, those who have gone down. I went down in MT on our way up too and know the pain and frustration that goes with it especially on a trip like this one. One of my absolute favorite pictures from my trip up there was not far from where you had your drop, just north of the the lodge on Muncho Lake there is a scenic overlook and from that point looking south the sky was simply PERFECT and the shot is amazing. I am really enjoying seeing the same sights through other peoples eyes!
I’m enjoying this series. There’s a lot of videos out there that highlight the most popular western motorcycle routes. It’s nice to see some new territory covered! Thanks for sharing! Be safe!✌🏼
Is this an EPIC journey!! I am already taking notes like not to stay at the Motel 6.... 😂😂 Really glad your ok from your incident, those can be the worst! 🤗🤗 Looking forward to seeing more of your trip! Thanks for sharing! 👍👍
Joy, I just want to say, first, glad the fall was nothing serious. At least from what I know now from your video. Been there done that, a few times. And second, good job on the video. Great scenery, descriptions of the travel time and mileage information. It is very helpful. Question, you mentioned quite a few restaurants were closed, any thoughts on why? I guess I am a bit surprised. Blessings, Clint
Thank you Clint. It could have been a lot worse for sure. There were limited lodging and restaurants on the ALCAN to begin with but from what we heard everything shut down when COVID hit and most of the businesses weren’t able to keep going. They have been permanently closed. It was disappointing because the signs advertising the businesses were still up so we were like “oh nice, there is food in 30 minutes,” but then no food. We tried to carry a lot of snacks.
What a great travel Vlog. Maybe you should consider a lighter motorcycle and soft bags. You don’t ride fast and could easily have made the trip comfortable on a lighter bike..safe riding.
You guys also did Shaffer Trail down in Moab, from Hot to Cold ;-). On the other note, you know why you fell, right? Both of you have incorrectly and heavily loaded your bikes. Not only are you carrying too much of a load, but are stacking them so high, causing a very top-heavy bike. Keep your Center of Gravity LOW, not HIGH.
Very nice my wife and i are going to Alaska this summer. We will be renting when we get there and we have 850’s rented. We hope to ride there someday. We live near Chicago and have both enjoyed your trip.
