You never, ever, tell someone they ARE going to jail if what you are looking for is a confession or that the person indeed to go to jail. Telling the truth closed that person completely out of reality, and if you don't have a solid evidence, it's game over. But, if you comfort them and lie to them, then we'll, they lower their defense and you got a solid case. That's how not only psychology but politics works, literally cops do that all the time to get confessions.

Okay i never saw this story, but she went to jail already correct? Second, she herself was raped and sexually abused when she was younger... if that is correct, she needs help. People seem to have little regard or understanding of how much a rape affects a person, if you have a loved one who has been raped in their past, you would understand how this has horrible negative effect on their life. Im not excusing her actions, but if this is true and accurate, she needs help herself.

I also find people who argue the same for both are often very religious. In history, incest was widely accepted based on lack of available partners or keeping monarchies and family lines pure. There was a different standard and let's admit that humans have had to learn the hard way. I wonder how many deranged individuals were born of incest before archaic men started to make the connection and understand this behavior had real consequences. However, there is no denying the scientific evidence that the products of incest are varying and problematic and becomes more of a burden to society rather than a benefit...especially when these children are allowed to assume positions of power. Where homosexuality is concerned, no offspring can be produced. That is, if we are using the laws of nature to judge what is good or bad. Homosexuality occurs naturally in many species as does incest. Nature doesn't discriminate against either. Still, I don't see homosexuality as a societal harm or burden. There is no shortage of people and homosexual couples are inclined to adopt, removing some of the burden of unwanted and uncared for children... least they choose alternative means for production. The opinion of the behavior itself is merely subjective depending on your beliefs. I have yet to see the real harm on society by being open and accepting of human beings who are harming no one as opposed to the very real and scientifically documented history of genetic and psychological harm brought on by incest. Always an interesting topic. Certainly not cut and dry nor black and white. Where the lady in the episode is concerned, I think her behavior is psycologically driven. Though I don't buy the GSA theory, there is a history of lost/found parents and children reuniting and having a sexual connection. This is just one of many stories I have heard and I just think these people are confused and overwhelmed by their feelings and they don't know how to regulate those emotions. They are emotionally trying to compensate for all the time they have lost and I think they become so overwhelmed with all those feelings that they translate it as romatic or sexual.

But if can adult incestuous couple besides that are not going to have children and there is no genetic defects argument then morally one is absolutely no worse than the other. No. But does that also mean that you shouldn’t be given a second chance and the opportunity for rehabilitation? Also no. Everyone deserves a second chance. And yeah, if this were a guy, we have been programmed to be biased. The onus is on you to be logical. If this were a guy, it probably would hurt me more and it probably would be harder for me to not be biased (sexual assault is trauma and that’s hard to overcome, but it is possible). But it’s looking at the actions of the person. Are they remorseful? Do they have a history of abuse? Do they have empathy for what they did? Do they actively want to be rehabilitated and get help? Do they actively want to be a productive and positive member of society? How are they treating others NOW? We seem to have this notion of child = innocence. But the problem is, that if that child grows up and has never had the emotional support system or a model, they are going to eventually turn into an adult. And they don’t acquire these skills overnight. It’s not an immediate thing. So then where is the line? They’re 18 and we say “too bad, you’re an adult now?” And then we easily cast them off as an undesirable, when they never had a chance to begin with. No one ever gave them those tools to start. They never had an emotional support system. They never had anyone telling them they had value. Again, this isn’t detracting what she did. That kid was already messed up from being abandoned and then ends up having to deal with sexual trauma as a result of his own mother. This whole situation just sucks all around.
