23 year Army vet here. Retired in 2015. I did a tour in Afghanistan. I saw first hand the futility, and wasteful spending. I would have seen another deployment over there. Folks ask me why I retired. 🤦‍♂️ this video is an example, and wokeness, politics, bureaucracy, red tape, and possible changes to the retirement to a 401k type system. I said to myself: “I have my health, limbs, sanity, accomplished what I wanted, got a free education, traveled etc. I’m taking my retirement and benefits and I’m out.” So that’s what I did. I wasn’t going to a part of the silliness anymore. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. What a crying shame. My father who was a part of the Vietnam era originally didn’t want me to enlist. Now I understand Dad….now I understand.

I don't see why western people should be in Afghanistan indefinitely. I personally find a lot of what goes on in Afghanistan to be appalling. But it's ultimately their country, they need to sort out their problems themselves. Biden was right to leave.

There are two things I want to say so this might be a bit of a rant. First of all, all of the people in the US claiming that women in the US are oppressed are disrespecting women like this that are actually oppressed. Not being able to have an abortion doesn’t mean that you are oppressed. It means you need to take responsibility for your actions instead of always wanting the easy way out and to be able to blame others for what you caused. This isn’t a statement for the instances where abortion should be allowed, be it rape, incest, or medical reasons. It’s for the men and women who think they shouldn’t have consequences and should be able to do whatever they please. You AREN’T oppressed and you have never known oppression. Second, anyone supporting the Democrats should take a long look at the outcome of their actions. Millions of women were placed back into true oppression because certain people are more worried about their image instead of the outcome. Seriously, this was done so Biden could be propped up as a hero who solves issues in the least violent ways. Taking a weak stance against monsters emboldens monsters to do as they please. This goes beyond the taliban. Allowing any group of people that believe violence and cruelty is allowed as long as it pertains to them is wrong. Ignoring it is wrong. Downplaying it is wrong. Claiming something won’t happen that you know will happen is wrong. Also, the “any group of people” is all inclusive. It goes beyond race, religion, sex, sexuality, gender and anything else. It’s a statement about individuals, some of whom ban together, that possesses the mentality that they are justified in their actions regardless of who they hurt by doing so. Last, I want to point out that all my statements can be applied to a wide variety of people. These are actually statements being made without any kind of hate. If you come at me accusing me of being any type of -phobic it shows that you grasp at straws in order to justify yourself. I see the individual and the only judging I make is whether or not I want that person in my life.

I find it funny when someone says " I condemn that action!" . Who cares "Condemn it all you want I dont care". Action speaks louder than words.

It’s absolute madness to expect something else from the Taliban.

So the same people that complain about Western colonialism and imperialism day in and day out praise Western powers occupying Afghanistan and pushing Western values and traditions onto Afghans. But this isn't imperialism. It's "liberation". The amount of irony here makes my head hurt.

Why are we getting our knickers in a twist over this. We spent 20 years and numerous lives of our soldiers attempting to tell the Afghan people how they must live their lives. It is not what we would want but let's face it, it is their country, and their religion and the woman are having sons and bringing them up to believe that a man is a man and the head of the house and the woman his property. We tried, but they don't want to change, so let's back off and let nature take its course. Western society was the same once, women were only given the vote at the turn of the last century, so while the Afghan people go down that path let's concentrate on more pressing things at home like why we are unable to define a woman anymore and is it right to give drugs and surgery to children because woke adults are convinced they are actually the wrong sex in the wrong body! Our society needs looking at too!

The Soviets including Russia and Afghanistan from 1979 - 1988 paid a very high price with a proxy war against US, Saudi, Pakistan and NATO militarily equipped, backed, trained, supported and funded insurgent forces whose Afghan insurgents were seen by the US as disposable military assets fighting a holy war against those who didn't believe in God and religion. The US and NATO along with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan believed they had defeated the Soviet Union and Russia leading to the collapse of the USSR and have celebrated this victory ever since. However the Soviet Union was not defeated in Afghanistan because the Soviets realised they were unable at that time to continue waging a proxy war against US, NATO and allies indefinitely with heavy loss of life and costly war and chose to leave Afghanistan. The Soviets and the USSR learned a lot from the very bloody and costly war and these lessons have been used in later conflicts against US, NATO and allied forces against Russia and Russian Federation. The US, NATO and allied forces of today are much weaker those of the 1980s and 1990s and both Russia and China know this. The only reasons both Russia in Ukraine and China in Taiwan have not used overwhelming military forces are to minimise casualties and maintain infrastructure, assets and resources so people can continue to live in areas taken by military forces to protect the mainland of Russia and China from the US, NATO and allied military invasion and destruction. It's why Russia and China use proportionate and minimal military force and don't use the same failed strategy of the US, NATO and allied forces using rebel insurgents as disposable military assets fighting proxy wars. The US supports and funds Radical Islam as a way to get rebels, insurgent forces and militants to fight proxy wars. Saudi Arabia supports and funds these forces to expand their version of Radical Islam and Sharia Law on the world.

Except, women joining the workforce and neglecting the "home" was the beginning of the collapse of society. Fact.
