Best known until now for playing Matthew Crawley on “Downton Abbey,” actor Dan Stevens will play Beast in the upcoming live-action remake of Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast.” He also stars in “Legion,” a new TV series set in the Marvel Comics X-Men universe. Stevens tells TODAY that “Beauty and the Beast” will feature spectacular visual technology.

He's honestly so beautiful, intelligent, and incredibly skilled at what he does. Love everything he's been in. Legion is my new favourite show because of him. Plus I just watched "The Guest", and it was such a thrilling watch. I could watch him all day! Super underrated guy. :')

He lost between 30-40 lbs, buffed up for The Guest after Downton Abbey. Chopped off his gorgeous hair, dyed to brown (he's originally light borwn hair) and changed diet completely. His 6-foot frame looks much smaller now as he shed all the softness he had up until 2013. Now he's as thin as can be, obviously is healthier, but personally, I preferred his softer look. Sure, he's hot as can be, but before, there was much more tenderness.

I guess people don't acknowledge it because its one of his older roles and he was playing quite a few of those floppy-haired perfect gentleman roles. I do love that wood-chopping scene though!
