Healthcare has always been in crisis. Things were getting better in the early 20th century. Before that, only the rich could get any level of healthcare, and that level wasn't much better than what the ordinary citizen was getting. Physicians didn't even wash their hands till the late 1880s. Bloodletting was still quite common in the 1800s. Pasteur linked disease to germs in 1861 and even that idea took awhile to become accepted. There was a time, not that long ago, where most people relied on folk medicine and life expectancy was MUCH lower than it is now and child mortality rates were extremely high. My grandfather had 23 children with 3 wives and 7 of them died before the age of 5 and this was in the Netherlands, a so called "modern" country. Healthcare is a fight against the inevitable.....our deaths. Until was solve that inevitable, which may never happen, healthcare will always be in crisis. I will acknowledge that our healthcare system was a lot better 60 or 70 years ago than it is now, in spite of the gains in medical science or social health care systems that have been put in place since then. That drop in our healthcare could be called a crisis but maybe that's because we're letting bureaucrats heal us instead of using medical science.

I agree. I tried a hormonal cream for about 2 months to help with menopause symptoms and I ended up not liking how I felt emotionally and physically. I then became concerned about side effects after reading the info on the medication itself. Of course these hormone therapies would affect these young people when our teen years are dominated by fluctuating hormones anyway. Perhaps in time, this will all be labelled as child abuse as well.

You are right. I was unable to sleep at night due to a neighbour knocking on my door every two hours. The cat would hear and start running from the front door to the bathroom and back to the front door howling all the time I was desperately sleep deprived. I went to the doctor who refused to prescribe a mild sleeping tablet as it could be addictive, but almost insisted I have an anti depressant instead. Which obviously did not help me sleep instead made me sleepy during the day and further unable to sleep at night. Best to stay away from meds most of the time and doctors and crazy neighbours as much as possible.

On God, I know 😳 I took a combined pill for years called Microgynon 30. I got prescribed it aged 15 for irregular periods, and I cried constantly and that was one of the least awful mental side effects. It made me so crazy I became violent, for example, I h@rmed myself physically with cigarettes, knives, my nails, and even pulling my own hair out, plus punching my own head. I NEVER behaved anything like that before. It made me constantly aggressive, rude, depressive, and confrontational. I actually got arrested once because I started acting SO mental during an argument with my best friend, I didn't hit him but he said he was terrified, and when I was losing the plot, I didn't even look like me, looked demonic apparently. It did give me a bigger bust and behind but the mental effects were just so extreme I had to come off of them. I'm being serious when I say, if I kept using that awful pill I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up in really serious trouble like in prison. It might sound like I'm exaggerating, but I swear to God, that pill is dangerous, well for me it was, and I'm guessing it might be the same for other girls. I felt like I had pretty much no control over myself when I lost my temper on that pill, and it made me lose my temper constantly. I cringe just thinking about the amount of my own possessions that got physically destroyed by myself during those absolutely insane anger fits. It made me constantly look for trouble too, literally nothing could have set me off. I feel so bad for my best friend, that poor guy seen me at my absolute worst cos he was there during a lot of these mental turns 😖

Maybe it's alright for some girls, but not all of us. Doctors dish it out as a first contraceptive because it's very cheap, and it's very effective as birth control. I knew lots of girls who put on tons of weight from the start of use, plus I know lots of girls who ended up being prescribed anti depressants once on the pill, I did but my mood vastly improved once I ceased usage. Scarily, I went to the hospital for something unrelated, was asked what other medicines I took, and I said Microgynon. The doctor said we call that 'Psychogynon' cos it drives women bat💩 crazy
