@@herballycorrect Yes, grocery prices ARE too high. At this point in the recovery, why haven’t prices come down since supply chain problems have eased? It has nothing to do with Biden. It’s because of unchecked corporate monopoly power. These companies are making huge profits and are screwing American producers and consumers because they can. Do some research, and you will find this is true. Starting with Reagan the U.S. stopped vigorously enforcing its antitrust laws, and then we made things worse by installing federal judges in the mold of Robert Bork who interpreted the Sherman Antitrust Act in a way that made it more difficult to enforce the law. We have had 40 years of this under both Republican and Democratic administrations, and when Covid gave these companies an excuse to significantly increase their prices, they took it and haven’t looked back. Biden is the first president in a generation to pursue a policy of aggressive antitrust enforcement. He has had some success, but you cannot undue the effects of 40 years of bad policy in just a few years. If Biden wins re-election, and especially if the Dems can win a majority in the House and Senate, then more effective action can be taken. If Republicans return to power, then there is zero chance that they will address the structural economic problems that caused this in the first place. Moreover, Trump plans draconian tariffs which will just add to the price of every imported good. Make no mistake, tariffs are paid for by importers and passed on to the consumer. They act as a regressive tax that hurts struggling families the worst. Please read up on this issue and vote wisely.

God has biblically represented as casting plagues upon humanity in both old and new testaments, both upon individuals and nations. Due to the age of the bibles, such plagues now seem so disconnected with modern day life. But it does seem that cases can be made based on the bibles that plagues and disasters in our times could be wraths of God. The bibles if believed, are to be believed for all time and not just in and around the time of their writings (with some old testament exceptions for things like animal sacrifices for which the new testament rejects in favour of the redeeming blood of Christ). Of course, any such 'Wrath of God' theories or assumptions must be limited to religious context. Any pastor (in particular) who espouses these ideas within the political arena is clearly over extending religion into politics which should be a blaring red light to any responsible voter. I'm not saying that religion should never enter politics. Certainly any preacher who warns his flock about the dangers of a second Trump term has my vote of confidence to do so. Trump of course is the exception to the rule. Normally if religion is to enter politics it should be done apolitically. Any candidate could advocate that voters incorporate some common sense ideas that stem from religion into their rationale of deciding who to vote for. But in any case the oft repeated statement of "Never trust a preacher who tells you how to vote or a politician who tells you how to pray" should be taken to heart, with a bit of room to consider responsible leaders offering responsible and careful advice on these matters. A pastor with political ambitions telling people that God told him that the DC riots was yet another wrath of God upon America does not sound responsible to me - even if he were to 180 and say that God's wrath here stemmed from America electing Trump in the first place!

We're not complaining about conservatives, though some haven't noticed the distinction, yet. Conservative means you want to keep something the way it is, not go backward or burn it to the ground. MAGA isn't conservative, it's regressive to the point where "lizard brain" becomes almost literal. Conservatives vote for people who support rule of law, these days. That's why Trump _lost._

Rational republicans who vote blue this time around are NOT leaving their party. Their party, the one they knew as responsible, has already left them! Choosing a president between say Biden or Obama versus Reagan or Bush Sr would be a contest worthy of campaigning and voters doing their homework to make responsible choices. Real responsible democratic / liberal values versus responsible republican / conservative values. Trump and the magaT controlled republican party aren't worthy of competing. And if congress had had the balls to invoke the powers of the 14/3 constitutional amendment before now (does anyone remember that thing?) we might very well have had Trump removed from what he so clearly does not deserve to compete for! So unless your use of the word "conservatives" was meant to represent rational republican candidates and policies from the past (with some discrimination there as well!) your remark is very much in the wrong.
