"God Save the King" is the national anthem traditionally used in the United Kingdom and in some of its territories. The song's lyrics were first published in 1745 during the reign of King George II, but the current lyrics of the anthem has been used since the accession of Queen Victoria in 1837, with different pronouns for the gender of the monarch.
