@@LivingtheDream67 Supreme Court justices shouldn't be accepting outrageously extravagant gifts from people, particularly people who subsequently appear before them in court, without said justices recusing themselves. Would you want Trump appearing before a judge who had been given a $260,000 luxury motor home by Dem donors? Wouldn't you think such a judge should recuse himself? A simple yes or no answer would be good.

Because we still have too many congress people who support this BS. Carefully vet the candidates for your state and vote accordingly so we can get this mess straightened out.

How can you say the "Rule of Law" means nothing to the SC? Did you even listen to the hearing or know what it was about? The Law is exactly what they were talking about. You do know that they are discussing only laws and precedents and not the case itself. The case happens later in the District Court.

@@Noreb You are correct, however they were not discussing the case itself, only the laws and precedents (or lack thereof). The Supreme Court is an appeals court, especially this early in the process. It is the District Court under Judge Chutkan and a jury that will decide on the fact of the cases. The intent of Trumps lawyers is delay and any delay would seem as a Trump victory to the general public. However, the last thing the SC want to do is make a ruling/opinion that has unintended nuances and implications, hence all the hypothetical beyond the current case is to help them tailor up or down the final opinions. It is likely that the SC will hear defense motions on this case again if Trump is convicted. If that happens details of the case itself may come into play, but now it is only about law and the reasoning that will be in the final opinions. It is likely the Judges already have made up most of their minds based on all the filings already submitted to the court. The oral arguments are a way for the Justices refine those opinions, discuss points not fully worked out in their minds, get clarifications from both side and lastly to provide insights of opinions to the other judges. - Sorry for the length of the reply.

He violated our Constitution's peaceful transfer of power and was the only POTUS in US history to call for a rally to STOP the electoral confirmation of his opponent. He is currently facing charges for felonies related to other constitutional violations (look up indictments online). DJT is a danger to our Constitution and to our democratic freedoms (Yes, I said "democratic" freedoms because that's what they are.)
