A convicted felon and still got weapons but we have politicians trying to pass red flag laws - that didn’t work, background checks - obviously didn’t get the gun legally. What gun control law would have stopped this GUY?
Completely right. I had to stay out front of our house to keep tires on our vehicles until we could pack and move. Literally sit by garage n wait for the x-husband of our daughter every night. Officers came out eventually night after night until like the 6-7 night they said to stop antagonizing him n don't call again unless one of us gets hurt. I said look my dad was a police officer! He said then you should know better. Really? My dad was so awesome any time anyone messed with our or anyone else's things, they dare not do it again. These days it's you don't matter till you need a coroner? I thought police are supposed to "Protect" before something happens!

I truly believe that it's everybody's obligation to deal with people like this. This is beyond authorities to deal with. I'm hearing now that she's mentally ill and pull a gun needlessly on someone. We can no longer say that the police and others deal with it. Not if you're part of the victims' list. Sad.

Absolutely a hate crime. It is KNOWN Christians usually back Israel as the Bible is CLEAR that Israel belongs to God. What tragedy? The only person who died was the shooter. Except for her child. Shot by the cops or the trans nut job? One man shot in the leg, who thankfully survived, and home from the hospital. You make it sound like dozens of people were killed.
She had free Palestine on the gun which I guess is because her ex husband is Jewish but the question I have is we’re here guns obtained legally she had multiple arrests were any of those arrest felony convictions also if she had mental issues and she did obtain weapons legally she had to lie on the paperwork and when the gun store calls the ATF to approve gun purchases why didn’t it show up in the required background check before they say the person can/or can’t have the gun
Well, when states began closing state mental health facilities because of the high cost of care for the state, this was inevitable. Ours closed in 2014. Families who had seriously ill family members, as well as police in our community begged officials to reconsider but they were ignored. Insurance companies don’t like covering this kind of health care, so people with mental health emergencies mostly end up in jail because they have committed a crime in the midst of a mental health crisis.

Well if the police was called multiple times on a deranged person and did nothing, then yeah its kinda their fault. If they had acted she would have been in prison long before she had a chance to commit this crime.
One of the off duty cops that was working security. She shot her AK-15 at the cop and the cop returned fire. The mother was using the 7 year old son as a human body shield.
She had a serious psychiatric problem, had repeated contact with the legal system over her harassment and threats to neighbors and family, and she bought her guns legally. If Texas had a Red Flag law, she wouldn't have been allowed to have firearms. Red Flag laws save lives. Moms Demand Action is working to pass them in every state.
Police are SUPPOSED to be moving (slowly) to a mental health "model". In Canada where I am we just evicted a 17 year renter nut case and he was "known to the detachment" but that didn't count. I just spent 17,000 on a lawyer, got charged, and he came at me on my property. I guess I should be thankful we are ALSO in Canada moving AWAY from guns. It would be unimaginable to have a neighbour who thinks one of the four voices in their head is telling them to do things.

Why KPRC has been highlighting that the shooter at Lakewood had “antisemític” writings? What is the relevancy for KPRC? The relevant here is the fact that the shooter had legally bough weapons despite her that her mental condition. That is the headline KPRC should have. Trying to blame Palestinians is perverse.
