Liberal Senator Hollie Hughes has slammed Prime Minister Anthony Albanese over his “ludicrous” refusal to rule out a double dissolution election which would be “insanity on steroids”.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has refused to rule out a double dissolution election amid criticism from the Business Council of Australia over Labor’s industrial legislation and taxes.
“It’s just ludicrous,” Ms Hughes told Sky News host Paul Murray.
“If you actually sit down and do the math of what’s required for a double dissolution … he would actually have to recall Parliament in order to put a bill he would know would fail in order to generate the trigger for a double dissolution.
“It is just insanity on steroids.”
