you don't 'help' those who don't want help, you involuntarily commit them or prosecute them for crimes and put them in jail. Vagrancy laws are being selectively not enforced.
I live in Victoria B.C. We are dealing with the same thing. The problem is the city trys to hide the fact we have a problem and it just keeps getting worse and crime is out of control.
@@jackgray3190 of course. Not just the homeless in BC come from the rest of Canada for the climate my family moved here for that reason. Even if you have a job and a home 100 degree summers and minus 40 degree winters are not a good time after a while.
I've been contemplating moving to the Vancouver area now that I am retired. Videos like this (& their associated comments) from all over the west coast are interesting. Thanks for sharing (everyone), take care, gracias
I'd say stay away from the entire West Coast of the entire continent of North America. Not only is the entire coast near a major fault line. But from Mexico, all the way up through LA, SF, Portland, Seattle and into BC- is a dumping ground for attics and homeless people that arnt getting real help but being enabled by failed elected leadership.
Not all homeless people in Vancouver or all over...or horrible people...I was on the streets for almost 10years...yes some is by choice but others we got no other choice....homeless people are human too
@@bryceingelsby exactly what if u end up homeless..there are lots of good people who end up in that struggle...I see more evil people with money then I do that are homeless...I'd rather be homeless and have morals and god in my heart then be rich and empty inside and alone
Before I realized I was on a fool`s errand, I used to try and "police" my property. I called it "scare crowing". Like the story, the dozen or more homeless started defecating on my entry way to punish me for enforcing my property rights. The first time I cleaned it up I said to myself, "My mother was a nurse! I can do this..." Finally, I set out a bucket of sand, rubber gloves, a jug of clorox and a cardboard sign with a smiley face and the words "Game on!"... Now, two years clear and $43K poorer, I realize that "The only way to beat the horses is not to try..."
Instead of try to help them harass them and put signs out saying "game on" what where you expecting? Lol the idiocracy so I'm guessing you lost? Ya when you fuck with people who have nothing? "Scare crowing" wtf bro you sound crazier then the craziest homeless
Everytime one takes a hit of fent there is a 50 percent chance of death so I disagree with thinking these drugs are that m9easy to quit. There is so much more to it which I wish others understood.
I am sick of it. Go to Portland where they want you. I have been in contact with the Mayor and Sheriff and more. Our society cannot allow which laws to enforce and which to let slide.
The Mayor and Eric Holmes are choosing to push all these people to my block. They claim, their services are here. What they mean is, they would rather have them living on my sidewalks Instead of city hall.
@@joen.1667 That's why I guess I am an alarmist. When someone camps in my front yard, we are going to need a coroner. Yep, not an ambulance. As for Mr. I, how about moving off the sidewalk and into a job, stop the excuses.
Criminalizing homeless will only make the situation worse as well as being inhumane. The root causes of homelessness need to be addressed. Spending money on staff to help homeless is a waste. The staff make a lot of money but the homeless that could use it get nothing. Address the issues that cause homelessness to be a very real concerns to citizens in the public areas and their homes. This is a national disgrace and wouldn't cost very much in terms of federal spending to solve.
Rent is too expensive in Vancouver. Buy a home ?? Sure if your multi millionaires you sure can own here. It's too much. We need a serious crash or economic collpase . Nothing can fix this mess. Governments ?? Ha ha ah ha no they can not fix anything they touch
There is obviously a reason some regions of the West Coast have such a serious homeless problem. Problems that have gone on for decades. Until the root of the why so many homeless are in these regions, the problem will never be even remotely fixed. There are reasons the Portland region is plagued with this problem. Some of those Homeless issues spill over to Vancouver, but its not all Portland's doing. The Northwest in general is a haven for homeless and druggies. The reasons It's the politics, plus much of the population is somewhat complacent to life in general. Basically not enough of the population is bothered enough about it to demand it stop. If there was a serious effort and demand the Politicians would put a stop to all the homelessness, it would end. There obviously is little to no effort to deal with it. Rather sad and pitiful
The reason is Chinese investment. Seattle has been their #1 favorite. They can't own in China so bazillionaires invest in real estate portfolios here. Portfolios. No one gets to ever live in any of the ghost homes they buy or the luxury condos they build. So nobody has any place to live but the property values have gone out the roof and that makes homeowners happy. Too bad we all have to share the earth here.
If you’re trying to make a political statement then go to hell. There’s a whole lot more than politics involved and why homeless come to live in places on the West Coast. Policy is one of them, absolutely. This isn’t Salt Lake City where they will freeze to death in the winner. This isn’t New York City where they have been dealing with homeless for decades/centuries.this isn’t Columbus Ohio that has half our population. Portland was a great place to live with the lowest crime rates. What has happened has happened fast. Not much time to react. If you don’t live here, then worry about your own god damn problems. We will get these people out of here and send them to you soon enough. Then you can watch them shit in front of your house. Call the police. Your town is not prepared. You will be in the same boat. You may fantasize that you will go Rambo and clear them out of your yard but you won’t. You will call police month after month and if you are stupid enough to go out there with your gun, you will sleep on the floor in jail next a sex offender for 3 months while your family suffers without you.
Make them work for the city or go to jail. Garbage picking etc. then give them breakfast lunch and dinner. And a warm place to sleep. Work or go to jail.
I’m homeless in Vancouver B.C , it really is not bad . The Government gives me 1400 dollars every month due to being a heroine junkie .I shoot that in any vein that works in about 2 days and the rest of the month I steal bikes and shop lift and support my habit . Food is everywhere and life is really easy being an addict . Why should I change , I don’t care I’[m in a tent as I’m high all day anyway’s .I’m actually not homeless and on drugs anymore but trust me B.C makes it very easy to live the lifestyle of a drug addict . Welfare is super easy to get and they don’t make you look for work anymore . So really why would these people want to get better ?n I think they should make it harder to get welfare by drug testing and make hard drugs illegal again .
To me. No excuse to fuck up your life and try to fuck up others in the way. Its very sad and so out of date. Its worst then somalia or Afghanistan. At lease they are not there. But real measurement should be applied. Its not a land issue. Its a morality issue. If someone refuse to get help. Put them out of the city in a small camps jist for them. You can do what you want. Do fuck up my living just becoz you think you can.
Poorly no help for home les people we have to help them no drugs take every home Las people gv only food take care very nice and ceap theme lock them like jail but we have to be nice to them gv sume food no drugs 5yers affter they come drugs free I they not going to take drugs they come normal people I feel so sad for thes people they needs aver gourmen help pleas help them
People that don`t know, simply don`t know. It`s that way with everything, I suppose, from malignant melanoma to rail road crossing safety. The poster "I Don`t Know You" has obviously never felt the sickening fright and fear of removing four intoxicated and aggressive transients at gun point from inside his own building. The violence and uncertainty is like a cross between watching a rape unfold and being in 12A when the plane starts to go down. He needs to be "woke" in the current vernacular...
@@idontknowyou5762 I witnessed myself. We just had another shooting here a couple weeks ago, then someone burned down a tent in retaliation. This has nothing to do with the Pandemic. This has been going on for years.
Raining days home les people wet looking so sad I cray every day Jesus Christ well going to help but gourmen sud help them if I have a lot of I'm ther help every won
