‘No longer about equal rights’: Gay pride movement ‘hijacked’ by activists 

Even the Rainbow which looks beautiful in a sky got hijacked.

Well, when they started chanting " we're here, we're queer, we're coming for your children", a lot of LBG people were disgusted.

The word "rights" has been hijacked. Forcing another person to do and say what you wish is not a right, that's essentially taking someone else's rights.

Gay used to mean joy.. Even the word is hijacked.. 😢😢😢

It went from: "We are gay. Just treat us fair and let us be." to: "We are whatever we say we are and you HAVE to accept it."

This is what happens when a civilisation starts eating itself.

I've been gay my entire life but I now reject it 100%. These people turn themselves into the most bizarre creatures on Earth, then complain when they are not well liked.

I am gay but I too do NOT support Pride, nor the woke gender culture. I agree that Pride today is no longer the same lofty movement decades ago.

Couldn"t have said it better. It went from "they want to be treated equally and with respect" which was valid, to an extremely hostile movement that want to control the rest of us. What ever happened to "live and let live"?

The GLB community fought so hard for so long for their rights. They are being erased now along with us women.

Me and my husband never participated in Pride in the first place. We fail to see the connection between being proud of who you are and vulgarity. We are sickened by the display of the stereotypes some of us gay men have been pushing back against since we were young men.

Amen! I came out in the early 1980s. We don't need pride anything anymore. Life is fantastic for gay people now. We have nothing in common with the groups who have glommed onto us. Being proud of being gay is like being proud of the fact I have blue eyes. Stop the ridiculousness.

I support people who were gay, bi, etc the way I wanted to be treated. Don't judge me and I won't judge you. However these hijackers just make me not be tolerant for trying to force me on the issues. As for the pronoun thing. It's just stupid. Who cares. Don't like it then it's not my problem.

I never liked being forcibly lumped in with people who are completely unlike me in every way and it's just been getting worse since the early 00s.

LGBTQ activism has not been about equal rights since homosexuals were given the right to marry. And that was back in the 90s. Since then it has all been about indoctrination, especially of kids. I have always asked, if it is just about equal rights, why are they still fighting. They have that already, at least in the USA. And I firmly believe that it is only the TQ crowd that is still fighting. They are the ones who flaunt their sexuality for all to see. But they are not fighting for rights. They are fighting to be considered normal.

Today it would more properly be called Shame than Pride. The movement has become a free-for-all that accepts too much nonsense under the guise of inclusion.

It hasn't been about equal rights for at least forty years. It's about special privileges based on who and how you have sex with. Hint: It's not for the folks who propagate the species.

Gen X homosexual male here and that movement has nothing to do with me. And I am sick of the flag.

Here in Sweden, while pride month is still a thing, it's not a time where we put pride flags everywhere. (I'm not speaking for Stockholm, Stockholm is another country when compared to the rest of Sweden).' Perhaps there will be a pride flag flying by the town hall, but that's also it. Flag culture is different here, we don't fly Swedish flags everywhere, the Swedish flag is up at special holidays or half way when someone of importance has passed. Here pride month is a month where we usually have a parade, which usually contains of people marching with the flag, perhaps holding your partners hand or your family members who accept you to show your pride. It's a march of acceptance. After the parade is done, there parades destination then invites people who wish to speak up to do so. Maybe there will be some BBQ being done, where people get to socialize and get to know more people who ride the same boat to feel less lonely. Yes being gay and marrying is legal here, even in the religious setting. The parade isn't really to change any legislature, instead it's to make the people within the community less lonely; for instance me who doesn't know a single person within the community, it sure gets lonely as hell when you see a lot of hate on media and you reflect over your own worth. It's hard to validate yourself and that goes for anyone. So a moment of the year where you are reminded of not being lonely, where you get a glimpse of validation from strangers around you, is something that really helps me to keep going with my every day life. I don't even put my sexuality in the centre, I see myself as a respectful individual who wants the best for others. It is not a month for corporate to make sure they stonk by using rainbow cups etc.

So true! So many of us gay people identify as individuals and go through life as competent, productive, determined and prosperous. We are not necessarily in any “community”, we are individuals first and so many of my gay friends have separated themselves from the “victim” orientation so prevalent in the alleged LGBTQ++ whatever thing.

It’s original core was just the L and G in the acronym, the B category being added on mainly for, get this beginning of the slippery slope, inclusivity. So, in other words, the inclusivity aspect ended up being the means by which the movement was taken over by more and more new self-defining, categories of radicals with tinier and tinier actual constituencies, but collectively a broader and broader agenda that radically departs from the original call for Gay and Lesbian liberation from forced exclusion from polite society.

The parade has become excessive, with activists pushing boundaries too far. Support for the LGBTQ community has declined in recent years due to inappropriate public displays and other reasons. The LGBTQ agenda and Palestine have nothing in common-holding a parade in a Muslim-majority area/countries is unimaginable. The parades are too long, and corporate presence often feels like self-promotion rather than adding value. I definitely don't support terrorist Palestine, and supporting the LGBTQ cause is becoming increasingly difficult.

The problem with pride and the lgbtq: We as a community are willing to include everyone, unless a straight person who is currently exploring themselves (queer), that’s when we will exclude what we should include. Before I came out as aromantic, I was bullied, sex-shamed and even harassed because I was straight and still am. I believe that straight people should be included because a sexuality is a sexuality, and we’re all born straight. Also a problem is that we wanna force our way of being onto other people and even kids. I mean, drag queens reading in front of a group of children is fine, because drag isn’t always gay. It’s dressing up, and kids love that. As long as it isn’t too revealing or sexy, I’m fine with it. But don’t force a 7 year old to think about weather they wanna be trans/gay/lesbian/bi/non-binary or whatever. Let them be kids! For the love of God…

I think the predatory behaviour associated with the Pride movement is a result of our commodified survival. If you compare Indigenous civilizations where communities worked together to ensure a basic standard of living while living in harmony with the Earth, there was a lot less homophobia. A good strategy for all humans would be to use modern technology with an Indigenous perspective, and ensure safe housing, clean water, healthy food, quality education, and full health care for everyone, while planning future development to be in harmony with the Earth and with each other...so kids and adults can earn a living wage from a place where they feel safe and loved, working towards an ensured basic standard of living, while achieving self actualization in the process.

There's a difference between actually LGBT and politically LGBT the political ones are the ones to stay away from. Of course feel free to disagree with me ✌

I know a couple where one is a biological woman, and the other is a trans woman. They had a baby together. Now, some time during their baby-making, you would think that the biological woman would have realized her partner was NOT a woman.

So sad. We are all human. Don't let us be split. I hope the day will come that tolerance and acceptence will be shown to everyone and that nobody has to hide their love or their looks even if it differs from the norm. It is not forced on others, it's just not hidden as you were used to. Heterosexuals and Cis people doesn't have to hide either. I hope that some day we have all the same rights and safety to live our lifes happy and safe.
