Things are NOT harmonious behind the scenes. We dont know who is telling the truth but given that Eddie has delivered and Mitchell hasnt i go with Eddie for now. Lets NOT go pubic with transfers in the fuure and, even if it isn't, present a united front. I dont like this Newcastle management as much as Amanda's (for now)!

Howe has already said that he speaks to Mitchell every day, so I don’t know what your talking about. Howe told Mitchell which player he wanted, importantly that he would improve on what we have & just as importantly his character which is absolutely key. A chain of events led to us not signing him. Good interview with Mitchell, but he will never be No 1. Eddy Howe, the team & fans are No 1.
In the chron interview Mitchell just sat there and answered his own questions, in order to both take the heat off himself and throw Eddie under the bus. So, in the style of Paul Mitchell - Do I think that our new sporting director has done a good job this transfer window? Fck No!!
Eddie also said he's had nothing to do with the transfer window and previously had said things like "i don't know anything about Barnes" while Barnes was sitting in the room right next to him... Give me a break... I love Eddie as a manager but he's far from competent in terms of player movement... That's exactly why you have a director like Mitchell come in...

It doesn't double cross what Howe said... Howe was in a press conference early and mid-day... PM said they spoke at the end of the day. EH wouldn't know about what happened in the day until the end of day catch-up. EH also said they communicate daily... Getting tired of people cherry-picking parts of statements for drama
Great to hear PIF are gearing up which means a shiny new stadium for ALL fans to watch their team. Funding will be via increased player turnover, sensibly priced recruitment, revenue streams via massive stadium capacity, sponsorship and global recognition and Eddie Howe can get with the programme as a coach NOT a manager or coach England,. PIF will not entertain anything less that total commitment to this outlined strategy being unveiled by the board. We want to be the best then we have to accept change but my greatest desire is to see at least 60,000 toon fans at our new stadium supported by the corporate prawn cocktail brigade and tourists. 😊😊
We don’t know what is going on or has gone on behind the scenes . The only thing I would say is instead of giving cryptic briefings to the press those concerned should get their heads together and sort out their issues. There is no place for Ego and turf wars in the Club. All sides should find a way to work constructively and if there are genuine points of contention then sort them out behind closed doors . This snide briefing of the press against one another is damaging and counter productive IMO.

I read Botmon and Bruno were identified before Howe arrived, Howe was impressed by Tonali from watching Milan's run to the champions league semifinals, and they other signings you mentioned were Ashworth's picks.
Honestly, I think this is a cowardly interview without any ownership. Is this leadership, throwing Howe under the bus? I mean even if you're not a united front, you should appear so in the press. I really doubt this will go down well with Eddie Howe, especially as he blatantly leaves the door open for England. The entire fanbase is behind Eddie, what a poor reading of the room from Mitchell. Calling Eddie intelligent is also so condescending in the context of this interview. This for me just shows division in the ranks. Not sure if I’m just totally naive but I thought these comments were positive and would have a positive impact on the club over the long term. Winning a Champions League spot so early in the project probably led to much higher and illusory expectations for some fans. This was never sustainable in the short term and from the beginning everyone has said this is a long-term project. Paul Mitchells comments substantially agree with this. It’s left me with a very positive outlook on the future of my club. #NUFC #HTL.

The results from the terrible transfer window speak for themselves. Clearly one target was singled out and, whether by mistakes, Parrish greed or a combination of both, something wasn't right behind the scenes at the club. Whether Howe, Eales, Bunce or Paul Mitchell , it doesn't matter..... Not fit for purpose is right, and definitely needs to change in the future. Hopefully lessons learned, and things will be a lot more streamlined in the future, with or without Howe at the wheel. What's right for the club is paramount.

Where do people get EH only signs english based players?? its a load of tosh Bruno, Tonali and Isaak had never played in the premier league he had no problem signing them, maybe they have only been looking in certain leagues and Mitchell feels we should broaden our search
Target, Hall, Tino, Trippier, Ashby, Burn, Barnes, Gordon Kelly, Pope and the dozen or so other English players we have been linked with over the last couple of years. I think fans get annoyed by it because there's a clear extra cost involved plus it's hard to catch elite teams by buying players that clearly wouldn't get near their starting 11s. Foreign players offer fans hope in the fact they are unknown and might someday be world class. Plus we can see the success we've had from players like Bruno, Isak, Botmon for what now seems like bargain prices.
Newcastle did not fail, they have great players. They just need to mix in u21s, Harris , sanusi, munda, kuol. They don't need to spend so much on one single player when they have a problem with PSR.
Bear in mind that this, effectively, non stop attack on Eddie came days after he sat with the Chairman and Eales. They must have cleared his comments. My guess is that if Eddie is still here by Christmas, we’ll have a dead window which Mitchell will blame on the fact that none of his whizz kid continentals would come because they don’t know Eddie, so we need to get in someone like…….Poch ! I think this interview probably marks the end of the Club as we know it, with it’s academy products and local connections and we are moving on to a totally different model, probably at a different ground.
Hes right about the not selling players. Feel like we have kept hold of people like Dubravka, Wilson, Miggy, even likes of Murphy and Longstaff because Howe likes them and maybe Howe doesnt or didnt trust that good replacements wouldnt come in.

He hasn't been honest though - where does he think Tripps, Bruno and Isak were playing before they came to Newcastle - not in the Premier league but in Europe. Darren Eales said of Paul that he was in charge of recruitment (not Eddie) so he can't pretend that he was only in a supporting role. This kind of 'Bull in a Chineshop' approach does not bode well for good working relationships across the club. He will alienate everyone he deals with.
Imo he was sincere and a breath of fresh air. Nickson was the first one on several Brazilian prospects now in Europe. In fact, it seems that Chelsea copied him. Plus, Joelinton, Isak (Botman I don´t remember) so, the FACTS show that he was looking at other countries and markets. Clear to see Phil got a bollocking and trying too pass it on, everything he points out if true is down to a system EH was working within for, too narrow scouting, so even if EH did only say that player, down to the fact that was the system, its also clear there has been a change with EH role in recruiting so too say Phil cant come in and impact already shows his failing, he gets paid to do a job from day 1, now certain procedures etc might take time to bed in ... i will take EH any day over Phil ... results on the pitch are what counts
It was pretty obvious this was the case from the get go. Mitchell's previous jobs and what hes done at those jobs shows this was an anomaly... Why? Because he came into the exact situation he is describing. Guehi is as clear as day a Howe type of player... Everything he said is exactly how I saw it happen from the beginning. Sure, Howe is a great Manager and has done an excellent job on the pitch for the most part. However, the PSR issues were NOT Mitchell's fault. Having to quickly sell Minteh and Anderson along with bringing in another keeper that we don't even want were 100% on Amanda and Howe. When she left and Mitchell came in Howe immediately started the whole power play stuff when talking to the media. Meanwhile Mitchell was trying to figure out where we stood. Howe then sat up in pressers claiming he had no knowledge of what what happening. Which at that point is just throwing Mitchell under the bus and, clearly, inaccurate... All the while only wanting to peruse 1 player... Look at the January window where we didn't sell players that would have been massive gains and would have kept us from having to sell Minteh... These things are all on Howe... I get he has history here and has done a great job but he's, clearly, not infallible and is too sentimental... That's why guys like Tripps, Wilson, and Miggy are still here when they could have been sold long ago for much larger $$ than what we could ever get for them now... also going to Elanga... Whilst I appreciate premier clubs have directors, I also believe the owners,both PIF and Rubens who are owners of the club have their heads firmly stuck in the sand. This will not work out amicably. We will end up with not only Amanda Staveley and her husband gone, but Eddie Howe will also walk all due to a clown like Paul Mitchell thinking he’s top gun. PIF and Rubens wake up and sort this mess out before it’s too late. Bad apples in the basket is never a good sign.
Sorry, but I'm not seeing much substance from Mitchell he sounds like someone who does not want Howe at the helm maybe because of how much he is loved at the club. TRUTH 🤯 is Paul Mitchell's word now gospel, It sounded to me like he was trying to pass his failures onto the previous recruitment team, he failed regardless of what was in place, the responsibility fall at his feet, it's his job, I would have respected him more if he came out with his hands up and said he didn't do good enough in the window, regardless how long he has been there. I bet you any money if Ashworth was there for those same 5 weeks, more deals would have been done. How committed are PIF, this has been 2 windows in a row that we have failed to bring any real quality in, during the huge injury crisis last year we didn't sign 1 player in January, not even a loan FFS, I'm sick and tired of the PSR excuse, sell the stadium naming rights etc. there are ways around it, people are not doing their jobs at the club and they are failing Eddie and us the fans.
i said a couple of weeks ago that maybe Eddie Howe is to blame as well, he doesn't seem to want anyone to leave he keeps going for English players his pool of players are very small, he said a few times that this is an elite team i don't agree with him i think it's a team of two half's, am really not sure Eddie Howe is on the same page as everybody else

Eales and Mitchell need to buck up, deliver and prove themselves. If, and it’s a big if for me, Eales and Mitchell are the top dogs at the club then their performance so far has been poor. I don’t like the sloping shoulders approach from Mitchell and Eales made bold statements and not delivered.

This hasnbeen planned by the club, 1st they binned Amanda and mehrad, who were big supporters of howe, they did that to undermine him, then for God knows what reason, he has decided that this interview was a good idea. I'm totally happy with Eddie Howe as our manager. However I can't stand watching his press conferences or interviews as the are excruciatingly dull/dry.
