Athletico Madrid and the Wanda Metropolitano is what you were trying to remember. New stadium or rebuild is a non-brainer. Seat inside the stadium or not we need to grow revenues to be able to compete - FFP/PSR and all that.
We got 5 goal-keepers NO centre forward and now just what we needed "Bob the Builder"! and a couple of new hotels for the weary traveler. Wouldn't it be nice if the Board simply came out and told us what they are going to do rather than what they might do, after all we the mugs are going to pay for the stadium thats for sure and we aint going to have a say where its going to be built. People that were not born one hundred miles nor five hundred mile or 5 thousand mile from the Toon are going where it satisfies them and we as we did with Lord Westwood and company follow to there drum beat.
As a fan of sheds I have to ask how it's possible to deliver us footbaal n Nufc news from a Waal nee probs but us shed fans are starved of the background we deserve #justfriskin'manMarra 😉 Cheers
Only thing i can add here is it needs to be done and dusted SOON ! i am running out of time to sit my arse in a nice shiney new stadium and with the biggest grin ever! my first game being 1969 against the mackems , standing in the Popular as a kid, we wom 3-0 and 56k in the ground.
Theres huge opportunity here for the club, the city and the entire region! We may have to lose a little bit of green land to realise an investment of £billions! But its much more than football - its for the whole region! Time to move into the future!
The only thing that kills me over the stadium being moved is I wouldn’t be able to see it from my flat window anymore. Maybe see a tiny bit. Always loved a can see into both st James and Gateshead stadium from my settee! But it’s but all about me haha. Onwards and upwards.
Depending where they build it, you should be able to see the new stadium for miles around if the capacity is around the 80k mark. Hard to hide a megastructure like that.
You don't hire a new director just to add 8k more seats to the Gallowgate. They described this as a “once-in-a-generation” investment. All the noise coming from the club points towards a new stadium being built. Whether it's built on the current site or elsewhere is the only unanswered question. Maybe they want to build something similar to the Etihad Campus. Amanda made a few visits there while she was NUFC co-owner.
I support Newcastle and have done all my life, but, I doubt I will ever go to a live match again I just can't handle the crowds and the noise. I would hate to see SJP go, but, if it works for the fans that do go to matches I would understand. But, no way will I support the club using leazers park, we have to understand not everyone thinks newcastle revolves around NUFC(yeah strange, but true) but that park is a no go area. Town moor, well yes can have a bit of it on loan for a few years while SJP is rebuilt. But, here's the kicker this is the New Newcastle, not sure our dreams are as big as the owners ambitions :) so I think I am going to be gob smacked and I for one am looking forward to it :D
I know you mention loans arranged by other clubs, but wasn’t the movement on companies house with cash injections into NUFC over the last few years similar?
Could end up really revitalising City centre so council would do well to play ball They would want to be bringing in money from international tourist fans paying a premium
Keir the bung starmer got BRIBED with a 15k arsenal box. Off the prem. To stop him stepping in. And stopping the prem league corruption. DISGRACE!. Reform ❎️
Newcastle will have the same problem as City. The league will try and block any avenue of finance which will advantage them against the red wall. These so call aristocratic football elite are jealous and terrified of losing their privileged existence. The league are in alliance with these weird entities.
Saudis won't come second look at what there building out there? Relax guys 100,000 seated brand new stadium coming big buildings like the shard etc I personally can't wait I want a season ticket for my boy ??? We love the toon 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Move Leazes Park to where St James is now and move SJP up into Leazes. Simples. There was a huge Expo around 100yrs ago on the Town Moor but most of it was demolished, apart from the Wylam Brewery building. My point being EVERYTHING changes over the years. A new stadium is a must.
As a City fan, why not. Man City built a school for Manchester education, a huge training complex, are building a huge after match fan zone, helped build a large indoor concert arena, invested and bought eight football clubs around the world and for Newcastle,, if they want it.... go for it.....
From what I’ve seen the most popular choice seems to be staying at the same site and using some of the leazes park, it ticks every box for me ..I’m optimistic that the council are going to be as helpful as possible and I’m not buying into speculation that this option is already off the table…🤞
I think even if nufc made a hotel with a high capacity stadium even the other hotels will be getting filled on match days! Howay the toon! Future looking bright for all
Newcastle City Council will have to be doolally mad not to open the doors to PIF investors pouring £££ into the City….demolition and total rebuild…adding on is nonsense and limited…once in a generation investment says not adding on a few thousand more imo. 🎉 it’s Athletico Madrids stadium mate😂
Just to say that Doolally was an army hospital outside Bombay. My gt. Grandfather was in there 3 times. As an 82 Yr old season ticket holder reckon a new state of the art stadium near SJP is best
A new stadium seems inevitable. Our owners want something to showcase their wealth, a state of the art stadium, with options to use it for other events eg NFL, concerts or even boxing to generate extra revenue is the way forward. The once in a lifetime cheque, isn’t going to be spent on a tired, lopsided stadium, parts of which are 50 years old (east stand), even if they can navigate around the obvious obstacles for expansion. A site in Leazes park would satisfy most fans desire to remain in the same area, SJP, could then be demolished, the area landscaped to replace the green space taken over by the new stadium. I’ve been going to SJP, since 1974, but feel if we are to grow then we have to embrace this.
What l want to know is what happens to the rats as big as cat in Leazes Park when we build a mew park closer to the city centre. Trees are really good as they absorb Co2 and give off oxygen which we tend to like. Mind you the extra 200 yard walk to our new stadium will be a killer 😂😂
