@RitaDimarco-u5d I don't know which planet you are from but Thorpe is not a Labor Senator. She was voted into parliament as a Greens member, then had an argument with the Greens and left that party to become an "independent". Voting Labor out won't get her out. The only way to get her out of parliament is to have a double dissolution so that all Senators have to be re-elected in a new election. There is no way she could be elected again now that the voters know what a loony she is.

I have been waiting in the UK for the responses from my favourite presenters to Lidia Thorpe’s little disrespectful outburst. Here I am everybody, look at me, my indignant rage at King Charles for the genocide of my fellow Aborigines. Having watched her antics during the Voice Referendum, I would have bet my house on her staging something during the visit. I prefer to think about the great alliance between our two countries (maybe not in some sports 😂) but the wonderful support during World War 2, which should never be forgotten. My favourite clip of her was when she was tottering along, doing a good impression of maybe having too many tipples, and unceremoniously falling over. If my memory serves me right, I believe even her father opposed her, and her genetic link to the Aborigines was fairly tenuous. Maybe a bit like Meghan’s 43% Nigerian, and Maltese heritage. I was just making the point that I believe Lidia has strong English/ Irish heritage, and I’m not sure what percentage is Aboriginal. Meghan Markle identified as Caucasian, even her agent didn’t know she was black, until she decided to identify as black, because maybe it was advantageous to her. Who knows, it was just an attempt at humour.

She also forgets that this type of conduct before the Constitutional head of state (like him or not, I don’t) puts her in breach of her constitutional oath or affirmation of office to “well and truly serve” the monarch. The oath is in the Schedule to The Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act 1901 (Cth). The Oath itself is part of the Constitution. She is in breach of the constitution and should resign or be forced from her seat. She talks about white people in the same way Hitler talked about the Jews of Europe. God help us all if she ever gains real power

Oh we really do have a brilliant voting system - cranks like her are elected as Senators who mostly, due to preferential voting end up with a powerful Senate which has it's positives as a check on the executive but really it's mostly extremely minute %'s that allow the Thorpe's of the world to get elected. I've always been a nationalist/republican/conservative - always liked Charles, respect for Her Majesty - but I loathe the monarchy as our Head of State, I find it embarrassing, you more British than British forelock tuggers I care nothing for. But Charles did NOT deserve this. That the establishment media give this crank airtime yet again shows like western media - they are deeply biased and corrupt. The ABC/SBS desperately need to be privatised.
