Good on him. Vegans have the right to go where they want. They don't have the right to force their ways on others or try and ruin a great, well-respected business.
Some Vegan activists ( urban terrorist) have been going into restaurants and abusing patrons and even throwing blood like dyed liquids inside of premises, truly they are brain damaged.
In fairness we already do force our ways on to others. If you want to start a dog/cat meat factory in the UK/US or most countries you'll be banned from doing so, even though pigs/cows are objectively more intelligent than these 'pet' species. Surely any meat-eater should be able to enjoy a dog/cat/chimp/orangutang burger if they want to?
I don’t think letting a customer down at the eleventh hour is good customer service at all, which is what it sounds like happened from his own words. It also seems people are being awful because it was a vegan who was treated badly. If it was you having your booking cancelled at the last moment, would you be happy?
To be honest this shouldnt be news. The problem with this is the group of people made it news and I guarantee its not just veagns getting and enjoying being self righteous and other people made it a big deal instead of living their lives, seeing the opportunity as it is and making a vegan restaurant and filling in the market available and people need to stop acting as though they are "supporting a cause" when in reality its stupid and pointless waste of peoples time. Also no one knows what or who a vegan is so realistically no one has actually been banned unless you walk into a restaurant yelling "im a vegan!". If anything they just dont have vegan food and arent going to be bullied into it by a few activists making normal vegans look like idiots. Not all vegans run around demanding food that is different to what is provided in a restaurant. Im allergic to garlic and its in everything and im not making a movement when they cant provide garlic free food at an italian restaurant. Its ridiculous, vegans are not a suffering victim group, move on people, sick of this fake suffering and the people who are "supporting" and fake heroics while ganging up on people
@@elizabethbradley4301 yes, that’s a tough one, the garlic allergy. 3 of my friends are allergic to the allium family. I agree that people need to go where the food is they want to eat.
Vegans arent, just the people who did this and the ones who are being self righteous bystanders who arent vegan joining in on the fake suffering again. If people dont stop falling for the fake victims etc and dont stop acting like this is a whole group of people problem and just a few vegans that are bully problem we're showing we'll never learn to see BS when it happens. This is clearly one of them because obviously this isnt something all vegans are doing. This behaviour is a spoilt idiot behaviour, not a vegan behaviour. Im not a vegan and Ive managed to work this out about all the fake suffering movements to bully people and then outsiders no better also blame a whole group of people for a few peoples dumb behaviour. im just hoping people will catch up and realise these movements end game is either designed to bully people and in turn make the whole group look bad which is in both ways a nasty thing to put so much importance on
If you had the life of a pig and had to go into a gas chamber, I think you'd be on the side of vegans. Not sure how you'd feel if you saw your mom marched into a gas chamber screaming for life.
He was the one who acted infantile and stupid about one message he got after failing to serve the vegan meal he promised to provide. He then banned all vegans because he didn't like the criticism of one person, which is ridiculous (imagine he bans all Muslims for the same reason). And then some vegans protest in front of his restaurant, which is the backlash that has to be expected. And all you have in mind is what you just said? I'm afraid that most people here are just as simple minded
You can believe and support animal rights, I prefer animal welfare, and NOT be a vegan.... I will never be a vegan. I support animal welfare and humane farming, but I can do it without being a vegan....
A simple rule of retail is your hardest customers (like Karens) give you 1% of your business. Its a good thing if they threaten to never come back. In this case, the Karens would not go away.
It’s actually his brain screaming for nutrition. That’s why they’re so crazy. A serious lack of nutrition will have severe consequences on physical and mental health. I was vegan for 7 years and I can’t tell you how sick I was. A big part of me came back online when I returned to eating animal products.
It wasn't a single complaint. Her vegan friends began spamming 1 star reviews against Fyre when they hadn't been at the restaurant. Joey can't control himself or hold a respectable conversation.
Why do people who realize they are on a train to nowhere land, raise their voices to make their point ? If you lose your rag you have essentially lost the argument. Next step is to throw stuff around .
Or you throw up a little sheet in denial when 1 bee dies for every 20 almonds. The fact that they're imported by their 10s of thousands and forced in the area to just pollinate almond and avocado trees.

People who don't live in reality are always angry. When you're standing on the back foot like fantasy dwellers do, you have no choice but to be a shrieking banshee. In this case, I applaud the move by the chef. He didn't fulfill his end and has admitted it. Nothing however deserving of a slew of fake reviews and negativity. But that's what happens with group think and the rejection of reality.
He made himself look foolish for sure. Most people eat avocados and almonds. I’d be interested if you’d be irritated if your dinner booking was cancelled last minute after being told you were able to be catered to. It can be difficult to find an alternative on short notice regardless of your dietary requirements, but I think most people are just being rude about vegans, and would be making complaints if it happened to them too.
@@DJaneSyria Thing is, The chef admitted his mistake. If the Vegan had taken a different approach they may have ended up with a nice dinner on a different night, maybe even complimentary. That said, life is full of disappointment. It is not the problem, it is how you deal with it. Going out of your way to destroy someones livelihood is not an appropriate response.
Im live in perth, first time i heard of this. Im gonna book in at this restaurant, and give it an honest review.. which probs gonna be a 5 star.....😂 i support this chef.
I accidentally walked into a vegan cafe rather than the one I usually go to since they are almost next door to each other, I decided to at least TRY one of their food items on their menu but the more I read their options the more appetite I lost to even bother wasting my money, I walked out and got myself a crispy chicken BLT panini right next door and fresh ground coffee with REAL cream 😂😂
Flesh made with tortured bodies and stolen milk from a raped, enslaved cow and a dead calf just so that you can have a few minutes of sensory pleasure. If you don't like some you can always try something else and anyway animal products are not worth all that suffering and death.
Plants are living things just like animals but vegans never think they are killing them when they eat them. Life eats life to survive. It's the circle of life.

I had a vegan friend who had no hassles eating at restaurants with meat eating friends as long as she could get a vegan meal which most restaurants do. They’re not all fanatics.
It does not matter. It is the loud intolerant minority that matters. They are pushing their agenda on other people. Do you know some meat eater group that is trying to force vegans to eat meat or to cancel vegan restaurants?
Well that’s because it lacks good healthy fats, complete protein and a plethora of micronutrients. You can only make a vegan diet “work” for so long before you start looking like a concentration camp escapee.
Well, even the best vegan diet is either missing essential nutrients, or they are present in a form humans cannot absorb or convert to useful forms. Hence the only truly healthy vegans require supplements to maintain health.
I have friends that converted to veganism a few years ago. I have eaten at theirs many times and some of the food i’ve eaten is ok. Except the time i was given an egg free omelette made from chick pea juice. The problem now with them is they try to lecture me on how a plant based diet is better, better for the planet, blah blah and yet guzzle supplements by the bucket load because their plant based diet lacks the proteins that a carnivorous diet provides. Climate change to them is a major problem. Cattle causes this problem and that problem, methane, carbon footprint etc. Now the hypocritical part… they own an electric car and when you tell them how batteries are produced and the way the minerals are sourced they’re in denial and won’t listen to reason. They’re big Formula 1 fans and when you mention the carbon footprint of moving from race to race, planes, trucks etc, it gets to a point where they won’t listen to reason.
Vegan food is made in factories using plenty of chemicals, additives, preservatives with little real nutritional value. Also requires more fossil fuels to produce because that's what factories need to produce, package (in plastic) and transport this chemical food substitute. It's another way to boost pharmaceutical profits and kill of the brain cells by slowly depriving them of real nutrition. It is another con to reduce world population through virtuosity and ignorance. I hope more of the brain dead embrace Veganism as it will help to thin the pool of breeders by going over the cliff like the lemmings they are. Think of the movie Solyent Green.
There was a restaurant in Toronto that had a group of vegans protesting out front for several days. The chef moved his butcher block to the front window and did his meal prep there in front of the protesters.
@@Osc1llateW1ldly Not really surprising since everyone in the modern world uses animal products. @@Osc1llateW1ldly More likely is that people are sick of others forcing their agenda down everyone else's' throat. So the protesters actually increased the amount of meat consumed at the restaurant. Well Done!
He is. He's like all activists, especially the loud ones. If you disagree they're full of virtue signalling and are so used to their online echo chambers that they can't understand when someone doesn't think something they care about is important. This is a really good example, he couldn't stop going on about the pigs, but didn't give two shakes of a lambs tail about the bees. Not killed by pesticide? Not my problem. Doesn't matter that they're killed by malnutrition and overpopulation problems like parasites and disease.
Activists throughout all of history were angry about injustice. Are you really gonna say the people angry about the lack women’s rights or African American rights were in the wrong because they were mad about it?
I saw a lot of effort to get a word in. How would you feel if you were invited onto a show to express your opinion and then weren't allowed to? Shame on Piers. He has gone from exposing the ludicrous to expounding his own prejudice. That doesn't help anyone and brings his integrity into question.
If you want Vegan, go to a Vegan restaurant. They're not 'banned' because they're Vegan, they're just on notice the restaurant won't ben over backwards to accommodate their unreasonable demands. Went to dinner with some friends, one of them is vegan. We'd decided on a steakhouse so weren't expecting the vegan friend to come, he did and ordered salad and a veggie burger. We did ask him if he was worried about cross contamination- he said no, I'm not allergic I just prefer a vegan diet, it won't hurt me. We take turns choosing where to eat. He's picked a vegan place before , no synthetic meats, I tried an eggplant burger which was really good
Not a great argument is it, though? If someone is against pigs/dogs/cows/chimps being slaughtered for food and the best defence you can mount is a whataboutary non-point about commercial bee industry 'murdering bees' (which vegans are against anyway), you've probably lost the debate
Actually it is interesting. Something like 70% of the food ( real food that is ) that we buy in a supermarket is possible because of plants pollinated by bees. Also that fact that Avocados and almonds have extremely high water requirements in their production, and it seems high demands on bees too. So they are perhaps not an environmentally friendly crop.

Dont apologise, its not an australian thing so dont make it one. Im a NZer and I think australians are great and the culture doesnt blame an entire group of people for a couple of idiots bad behaviour. As soon as you do that youre turning into a bad communicating american. This has nothing to do with australians or being vegan, its just about a prick using their diet to annoy a restaurant owner and it shouldnt have been made news. Thats the thing that I think is most unproductive, that something so stupid became news. In reality this piece of news is quite stupid and is worded in a way that magically now all vegans are apparently pricks when we know not all people are running around doing this, it was just a couple of morons. Bullying and lack of intelligence is a person thing, not a vegan thing and im really missing the free and calm communication of the more intelligent side of our societies.
As we evolved as a species we scavenged meat from animals killed by predators, this helped our brains to grow,as our brains grew we made tools and we developed tactics to kill animals and get fresh meat, allowing further brain development,so basically a lack of protein is causing vegan's brains to grow increasingly smaller.
That wasn't the main driving force behind humans becoming so intelligent. Our intelligence comes with a major cost. Compared to other primates our babies' heads are enormous. This makes childbirth dangerous for both the baby and the mother. Walking upright changed our hip structure compared to that of other apes. This made it possible for females to give birth to babies with larger heads and still survive. Our lineage was able to develop larger brains than the other apes could. There were plenty of deaths along the way from babies with too big of heads and mothers with too small of birth canals, but eventually the survival advantage of intelligence outweighed the childbirth hazard of our enormous heads, and we became the species we are with the traits we have.
After 10 years of an inadequate vegan diet, a mineral deficiency would have led to far worse negative health effects than an attitude and passionate debate 😆 I think he's doing just fine
@@samclare3765 That isn't true at all, it depends on severity of deficiency and availability of healthcare. Some of your more quackie vegans like Freelee manage to stay alive due to being rushed to the emergency room and being pumped with minerals when needed.
Vegans often say that they hate the looks and taste and texture of meat. Then they order vegan burgers, vegan sausages and vegan steaks. And while the original meat products contain like 1, 2 or 3 ingredients, the vegan versions contain lots of artificial flavors, colors, preservatives, chemicals, etc. which aren't really healthy and not good for the environment, but the products are much more expensive than some good ecologically produced meat from the region. That doesn't make any sense at all.
Contrary to what you say, I don't think a lot of vegans "hate the looks and taste and texture of meat". They stopped eating meat because it's (obviously) bad for the animals and also bad for the environment. The reason vegans are eating these products is because they ate meat their entire life until they went vegan. Also to think that meat only contains 3 ingredients is utter nonsense, you just failed basic chemistry, furthermore "chemicals" aren't automatically "bad" or "unhealthy", in the same way that "natural" foods aren't automatically "good" or "healthy", I wanna see you defend someone drinking snake venom because it's natural... Also 99% of the meat is factory farmed, I can't fathom how people are always talking about this "local ecological organic" meat, that's just absolutely not representative of the world we live in...
The Hypocrisy is amazing from this Vegan, this guy just literally laughed off the cruelty of what happens to the bees just to keep his Avacado. Looked up myself and Piers was right about the things that happens to bees just for that avocado farm.
Much respect to that man for banning all vegans. The people that come in to order will all have a smile on their face as they indulge in a nice bit of that pig that was in a chamber 10 days ago :D
It's 100% a privilege to be eating meat as much a 3 times a day and think that that is "okay" and "natural" just because it's how you grew up... We only have to go back 50-70 years in time to see that nobody ate as much meat as we do in current times. It's obvious that it's bad for the animals, but it's also scientifically proven that meat is one of the worst things you can do for the environment. Curb your privilege...

My view is if your going to a restaurant you pick from the menu not demand its changed to meet your preferences. If you want something specific you find a place that serves it as part of their menu or make it yourself at home.
Exactly, 1: you go to a restaurant to taste a chefs cooking. 2: They don't have everything you want fresh all the time so he makes a menu and specials based on what he has. 3: You don't ask a chef to prepare you fake food, chicken is a chicken not a fake chicken

Listen, it isn’t pretty to ban anyone from your restaurant, I’m sure he’s aware of that, but they are in the wrong for destroying his business just because he doesn’t fit their standard, ruining a business that cost him a lot of hard work. I respect others and the lifestyle they choose for themselves but they souldn’t destroy people who disagree with them, if I can’t eat gluten, I won’t choose a bakery for lunch.
The bees die from "transhumance" constant movement. Hives are placed in an area untill the trees are pollenated. They are moved every couple of weeks causing unbearable stress. The bees dont die from mites because they are too valuable to their owners not to be treated.

Is it only vegans that eat almonds and avocados? Most people eat avocados in my experience, and almonds. I think the restaurant owner can cater to meat eaters only if he prefers. I don’t know the full story, but judging from what he himself said, sounds like he let her down at very short notice after agreeing to cater to her group. That’s poor customer service and he should have said no from the start instead of ruining someone’s night out. If a business doesn’t cater to vegans, I go to one that does. No big deal.

There is utterly no point in the vegan getting angry about this. As piers kept saying I will eat meat and that’s pier’s decision so the vegan needs to back the hell down because getting aggressive to people when people choose to eat/serve meat isn’t the answer. I can never work out if vegans are elevating animals to the level of humans or lowering humans to the level of animals. Veganisim is very speciest, who are they to discriminate what can be eaten by what. Are they going to tell the lion not eat the Zebra.
In the end, it doesn't matter what you want. If you want to be vegan, go for it, but if you wanna tell others to be vegan, you will in most cases, just turn them into even bigger non-vegans.
