You lost friends Alana but you gained meeeee! Then you lost me because Instagram terminated my Instagram account because I spoke up for Palestine. But I'm still standing and have not stopped talking about Palestine since.
This issue has ZERO to do with "liberation" and has EVERYTHING to do with H@mas's evil, violent ideology that is written for all to see in their founding "charter" from 1988.
as a black man in ameriKKKa who is also a senior citizen, and a disabled veteran, there are many words and phrases that i don't know and which i have no understanding, however, i do know right frim wrong. i have grown up in the south, so i am familiar w/racism/white supremacy. even at 65years old, i realize that there so much about how the rest of the world operates. i thank you mehdi for educating me and exposing me to much. i wish you many blessings and much success in your media endeavors ...
How can you trust these people who believe that the holy land of Jerusalem belongs to the Palestinians just because their prophet Muhammad has admitted to having flown to Jerusalem on a flying winged horse? The Muslim connection to Jerusalem is extremely tenuous compared to Judaism and Christianity. In fact, Islam claim to the city exists largely because it is held sacred by highly influential religion. From the time of the prophet Muhammad to the present day, Islam has always been a "me too" faith, attempting to ride the coattails of other people's religion.
Alana is such a hypocrite. She has admitted that she is Palestinian and she feels Palestine is like home to her. But why does she live in America and not in Palestine? She believes her country called Palestine has been occupied by the democratic state of Israel which is an ally to the United State of America, a country that gives women their rights and freedom. Even so, she still expects Palestine to gain its freedom which is ruled by Hamas, a terrorist organization that iwill never recognized as a country under United Nation.
It will be Israel + Palestine. Accept the reality. Hamas, the Islamist extremists and Netnajahu + His Right wing regime will not bring peace to the region.
Great discussion. I’m not Palestinian and I admire them so much. She is absolutely correct about how nice they are and how generous. I had a Palestinian friend who owned a carpet store. I went to visit him and he literally yelled at me when he asked me to take any carpet as a gift and I said no. Beautiful ppl
Just stand up and leave the room! That if you don t want to listen to fairytales. Like our prophet did. I really want every leader of a country, spokesman, consult, journalist, anyone facing these liars (israeli and american politicians) just stand up and leave the place. İf it s possible don t go to there meetings, press conferences etc. They are insulting and disrespecting everyone with there answers. Avoiding and lying each time. They don t deserve respect of the rest of the people who are still honourable. So like eveyone avoiding the bad, avoid them. Our time and breath is really of so much value, that we must not spend it with these heartless people. Boy*ott them the same way we boy*ott there products.
I found this beautiful from start to finish. However, I would like to offer one critique: when considering a visit to Palestine, I encourage using the more difficult but preferred method of travel, which is by land through Jordan, instead of using their airport. This is for moral, political, and boycotting reasons. Thank you.
The persecution of the juice produces Eemaan, Jihaad, Shuhada and solidarity through Islam. If it ends, it will be replaced by atheism and immorality like this. That's why the war with the juice will not end until the very end so as to protect us from these.
"But I am haunted by the human chimpanzee I saw along that horrible country. I don't believe they are our fault. I believe they are happier, better, more comfortably fed and lodged under our rule than they ever were. But to see white chimpanzees is dreadful: if they were black, one would not feel it so much, but their skins, except where tanned by exposure, are as white as ours." (Charles Kingsley 1860, extract from a letter to his wife while he was visiting Ireland.) I was visiting Glenveagh in Donegal Ireland recently and read this from a letter from a British person who casually speaks of salmon fishing while simultaneously dehumanising the Irish people who were being evicted and starved from their own land at the time. Unfortunately these ideas have not disappeared, I was at a British wedding this year were I was mocked for being Irish and told we should are lucky that the British brought "civilisation" to Ireland and other countries it colonised. This is why Irish people stand with the Palestinians 🇮🇪🇵🇸.
The arrogance of colonizers to assume these people didn't know how to live before the great supremacy arrived. Even if we're somehow "backwards" it's none of colonizers business to "make it better". It's funny how they position themselves as the guardian, the savior.
I am sad you were treated so badly at that wedding you attended, it makes me feel ashamed to be English, which I already do for myriad reasons, our exceptionalism, arrogance and shitty foreign policies that are dependent on the US and Israel, it's a disgusting country underneath the extremely thin veneer of respectability. I've always loved the company of the Irish folks I've known over my lifetime, much more than the average miserable fairweather so called friends I've had the misfortune to encounter in England, apart from a dedicated handful, they've proved themselves to be generous of spirit and hospitality, honest to a fault, extremely loyal, utterly dependable and not interested in getting angsty over trivial shite, which is all you need from your fellow humans in my book.
“To be under occupation, to be under siege, is not a situation in which you can be creative. But it is a situation in which you have to be creative to survive.” Mahmoud Darwish
Each time I entered, they held me for 5 hours. The first time in 2006, they indeed stole my laptop, then denied ever seeing one. I had to file a report with their office and around 2 weeks later they told me they found it and to come back to retrieve it.
I think they justified it to themselves that they had to do it because they believed having a Jewish majority state would protect them from any more progroms or another Holocaust. It's a messed up and a completely misguided idea.
Level of despair, who knows what they endured in the concentration camps. They forgot what it's like to be civilized, debased to an animal level just doing whatever to survive. Evil breeds evil behavior.
@@leviashanken7281 And then transporting their anger at that despair onto an undeserving native population elsewhere, under the guidance of a greater, yuropean-aspiring project that took advantage of their trauma.
Let's continue to normalisation of humanisation of all our brothers and sisters. Im a middle age white white women but I have lived on 4 continents and we as humans have way more in common than what separates us. The biggest problem i have seen is the income inequalities and lack of respect for labor in all its forms
Definitely the best episode to date. The chemistry between Medhi and Bassem is, in my opinion, peak but Alana and Medhi is a very close second. Would love to see her on again, maybe with Bassem next time! Keep up the great work and Free Palestine :)
The best self-defense I have found when people attack me for my stand with Palestine is ignoring their foul language and simply answering them in a polite way. And boy, o boy, does that flame them up.
This issue has ZERO to do with "liberation" and has EVERYTHING to do with H@mas's evil, violent ideology that is written for all to see in their founding "charter" from 1988.
I always thought that Mehdi's presence on his previous network lent a aura of adult, non-corporate debate to their programming. That goat has left the building.
I swear my people didn't have it easy as I am Somali and it made me smile when I seen the Syrians in Somalia last year because at least they are with people who will live with them and make sure they get an honorable Muslim burial though we might not have much to offer them. We demand to be honored just like all humans ought to be honored as Allah honored mankind from the beginningm. Allah is greater than all
'Millions of People throughtot the world ( Millions of Palestenian People ) have had the exact same sroty as my family's story..lts a story of settler colonialism
The best interview ever... she's so intelligent, smart, brave, fashionable, amazing, encouraging.. Everything she said is so❤.. aaaaaahhhh when she spoke about going to Palestine felt like home.. it is home to all people around the world because they are so welcoming since evertime
As one of the question was about sanctions and the public ( as I believe ) is american, I wated to let you know that in europe we use No Thanks application to boycott companies related with the occupation and the occupiers nation ! No Thanks helps
How Lucky! I would love to feel how it's like to have someone belonging to Ireland and Palestine in my family. My blood too would boil with resilience. 😁 Is anyone else thinking that too or is that just me getting crazily excited without any reason?
I'm really from a small town in french Canada, so are both my parents. Strangely enough i pass easily for an arab. I used to live in dubai for 13 years and whenever someone asked me "where are you really from?" I always felt more curiosity than anything else with that question, but i guess asked the wrong way it could sound quite r@cist!
Can I share that as the longtime partner of a self-described radical militant atheist ex member of the Communist Party, nice Jewish boy from Queens, who is sadly no longer with us except in spirit, the two of us became members of a local Progressive synagogue. We then joined the economic Justice committee, the Greening committee and last but not least the Middle East Peace Committee. It felt like we found community. So aside from doing work with local food banks and facilitating getting solar on the roof of the shul, we also planned events around Israel Palestine showing movies having compassionate listening sessions. At one point we even visited a local mosque, for me as a female that was a real eye-opener to experience the separation of genders. My point is that over the 10 years that we spent in this activism, we in the committee never once considered the real viability of a two-state solution. We had numerous speakers from Progressive ngos, and although the subject was discussed from so many perspectives at the end of the day it all came down to do we maintain the status quo? Which is obviously the easiest route, do we continue to mow the lawn? Or do we finally FINALLY acknowledge that the only true solution is a secular Israel. Everybody's a citizen, enough with the Zionist crap, one and done. Also sadly at the end of every meeting it was pretty much clear that we call ourselves the Middle East Peace Committee doesn't mean we're ever going to see peace. Also support BDS!
Elana The best I heard from a Palestinian activist was “ Palestine was invaded first by Othman empire, then British empire, then Zionist colonizers protected by American empire. But Palestinians survived and resistance went on through all empires. So it’s not 76 years. It’s 120 years. The fierce fighting started during British era.
I feel like bassem will storm the comment section to answer his ”this is the best episode”.... dont know why! But he is exactly the kind of person to do that 😅
Mehdi always been a follower and a fan... Congrats on Zeteo.. Honestly, a BREATH of FRESH AIR amongst the stagnant media options we have had to put up with. I'm signing up, subscribing, and giving it a mention everywhere, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, on the street, at work and at home... Thank You!!! 🇵🇸 Palestine Always was, Always will be Palestinian Lands, the sovereignty of Palestine has never been ceded!! 🇵🇸 Palestine WILL BE FREE ✌🏼☮
Thank you very much Mehdi Hassan for this beautifully framed talk about Palestine especially having this cohosted with Alana Hadid .. I felt her Palestinianism and indeed her efforts is very much appreciated. Allah bless you both and all your loved ones.
THANKS so much for this interview. Loved it from beginning to end. Very inspiring. Powerful people should use they platforms for the good and to open people's eyes. A lot of eyes are still closed to the truth.
So I only had a few things left that were Adidas, I effectively donated them. Burning them would be wasteful and bad for the environment, if you have Adidas and you no longer support them donate them because companies like Adidas have a set vision as to who they wish to own their gear, and if a bunch of homeless people on their gear that actually hurts them way more than you burning or trashing your shit.
55:13 Thank you for this point in the discussions. And so correctly said, Mehdi. Students are always on the right side of history - case in point .. Vietnam, South Africa, Iraq, Gaza ... and now the Bangladeshi student movement which led to the removal of the longest reigning leader in this country.
