Honestly people, life in the Philippines is so much better and happier! Can't you see? Why do you think thousands of Americans go to the Philippines and will marry or hook up with young Filipinas? So they can live there and have a wonderful life!

I have lived in the Philippines over 25 years as foreigner, If i was in a homeless position like these people then the philippinos would tell me to go back to my home country so i think they should do the same.

Along 4th St. po yan kanto ng S. Vermont Ave. sa Los Angeles, CA. Nakakain na po ako dyan sa Sizzler restaurant na pinakita nyo sa opening scene. May naka kwentuhan akong Pinoy na homeless sa LA while waiting for the bus. Tinanong ko kung bakit mas gusto pa nya sa kalsada matulog eh may mga homeless shelters naman sa LA. Ang sabi po nya kasi daw po malimit sya mapaaway sa ibang homeless lalo po yung mga itim sa paggamit ng bathroom or shower dahil common ang facilities. Marami daw po may mga mental illness kaya mahirap sila makasalamuha. May tinatanggap daw po syang pera sa gobyerno buwan buwan saka kung madala sya sa emergency may Medi-CAL card sya wala din bayad. Yung amount ng perang tinatanggap nya is more than enough to feed 3 people so he prefers not to work at umasa na lang. Meron din daw po syang pinipilahan na food bank na every weekend may truck na dumadating para mamigay ng isang bag na grocery. This is the reason ayaw maglimos ng mga kano sa kanila kasi alam nila may mga sustento ang mga ito. Yung ibang homeless nagpapalimos pa rin dahil may mga bisyo like sigarilyo, drugs, alak etc. Maraming homeless nagsasakit sakitan para makatulog sila sa Emergency Room sa hospital sarap na sarap daw sila sa warm blanket na kagagaling sa mga dryer. Pag dinischarge na sila after a few days or a week obligasyon ng ospital na bigyan sila ng damit/footwear/sapatos, ihanap ng transportation at drop off sila sa safe na lugar. Kung hindi po nila gagawin ang mga ito possibleng ma demanda at masara ang ospital. Yung relative ko kasi works as a nurse sa malaking ospital sa LA at batas daw po yon.

Marami pong dahilan kung bakit nagiging homeless ang isang tao. Just because homeless ang isang Pinoy eh tamad sya. If you get laid off and your unemployment benefits run out and you got evicted it would be very hard to find another apartment coz landlords do a background check on you. Totoo po maraming trabaho sa US pero kung aged ka na, may mental illness or other disabilities yung chances po na makahanap kayo ng job is mas mababa. And especially sa Los Angeles where this video was taken, karamihan sa mga menial jobs na minimum wage like in fast food, restaurants, warehouse etc. mas gusto nila bilingual English/Spanish speakers. At dahil din sa COVID maraming employers ay nag layoff or shut their businesses altogether to reduce their losses.

I think either you are poor or rich, always thank god. If you poor ,ask God to give courage to surpass those painful moments. God is the answer to have peaceful mind.

Ang kasabihan sa atin ay “kung May tiyaga, May nilaga” pero sa tingin ko mayroon silang tiyaga pero wala silang nilaga. Karamihan kasi diyan but not all ay nung maganda pa ang buhay nila ay hala sila ng hala without thinking ang kinabukasan. Dahil madaling kumita naging “one day millionaire” hindi nila alam that if something happens they will be thousand days broke. Sad to see their situation but it’s their choice kung bakit naghihirap sila.

It's just so heartbreaking seeing them like that yet some of those who were fortunate and is staying there thought they're mighty because they're n a country where not all could really reached it out knowing that the policy to get in there is not that very easy😊why choose to live a country that's beyond their means to sustain their needs

Ja, it‘s sad knowing that US is the land of promise. But at least the gov‘t let them stay there. It would be more difficult moving from place2place...and while watching this, it made me more grateful of our home. Hope they could recover eventually, whether it’s job, health issues or addiction. I lived in LA before, where is that place?...Mostly homeless are in Skid row downtown. But when I visited last year, we stayed in a Hotel along Vermont Beverly and Sta. Monica streets. The sidewalks are full of tents with homeless. Some were staying near the Subway station. Truly LA has changed.

but when relatives talk about them here as if they are living the good life there.....spending frugally their money here not knowing their living conditions there... if they could only see this in you tube......they look very much like our taong kalye here....
