The Armed Forces of Ukraine claim they have killed 200 Russian paratroopers in an attack in the Luhansk region. Ukraine said that Russian troops were attacking in several directions in the Luhansk region, but had no success. Local authorities said that Russians used the Grad systems to fire some 40 rockets in the region on August 26. Meanwhile, Russia’s defence ministry says its forces have destroyed a M777 howitzer, that was used to shell the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant. Ukraine’s state nuclear power company says that one reactor at the Zaporizhzhia plant has been reconnected to the Ukrainian energy grid. Germany's military has indications that Russia spied on Ukrainian soldiers’ training in Germany. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that its planes are being refitted to carry nuclear weapons. Russia has significantly ramped up gold exports to China amid Western sanctions due to Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine. Former Russian PM and Putin’s close aide, Sergey Kiriyenko, narrowly escaped death after being targeted by Ukrainian fire.

@@charlesneely The worlds biggest scale gas field is right under Crimea and the Donbas. It was discovered in 2013 and I don’t think that’s a coincidence. This gas field doesn’t have a huge value to Ukraine because Ukraine is a democracy and the gas is enclosed in scale under populated areas. russia is a totalitarian regime that doesn’t care about civilians, so they wouldn’t have any problem with fracking under populated areas(if they had the technology).

Both are likely exaggerated however the The Attack on the Ukrainian Train was been used for civilian purposes and to transport ammunition no way it killed 200 troops even if troops were present they train saw many civilian casualties.

Well, Ukraine is fighting (conventionally) within its own borders, opposing an invading force. Russia is invading a nation, where there targets are in populated cities. Even though many have tried to leave the country, many have also stayed. Not everyone is able to make it out, not all even know what to do or where to go - Ukraine is all they know, they are elderly, disabled etc. Leaving is difficult, so they stay. Also Russia has used A LOT of it's precision munitions already, and are resorting to older Missiles that tend to be far less accurate, and again, some of their targets are in cities. They tend to hit other things, unintentionally, but completely knowing the risk before they gave the order to fire it. My point is it *COULD* BE Civilians of the Russians do it. It doesn't seem like they care, that much. But I don't actually think they intentionally hit civilians (although they do intentionally fire at civilian buildings (hospitals, Utilities, Telecom, etc)) But it is a matter of taking out critical infrastructure, regardless of possible civilian casualties - I think that's at least slightly more proper explanation of Russian doctrine.
